SUMMARY:

In this study, we investigate the propagation of acoustic waves in one-dimensional phononic crystals with quasiperiodic
arrangement. These structures were built using two distinct materials, lead and epoxy, arranged in a specific sequence and
bounded by two semi-infinite layers of aluminum. During our research, we explored four notable substitution sequences:
Fibonacci, Thue-Morse, Double Period and Kolakoski. The quasiperiodic characteristic of these structures allows the
formation of regions known as "band gaps". Which prevent wave propagation for certain frequencies. This phenomenon offers
various technological applications, particularly in acoustic filters.
In the scope of our study, we examined both longitudinal and transverse propagations. To analyze the transmission spectrum,
we employed the transfer matrix methodology. Additionally, we varied the angle of incidence and introduced modifications in
the symmetry of the sequences, thus expanding our understanding of the properties of these quasiperiodic phononic crystals.
