A gyrochemical clock for solar analogs using rotation in open clusters
Stellar Age, Spectroscopy, Gyrochemical Clock, Solar Analogs, Open Clusters
In this project, our main goal is to propose a clock that relates the abundance ratio of yttrium and magnesium (known as
[Y/Mg]) with stellar age (obtained through a calibration of gyrochronology age) for stars analogues to the Sun. We will use
solar analogs (selected using photometry and spectroscopy) that are in open clusters of different ages. We will calculate their
[Y/Mg] abundance and observe how it behaves with age and the galactic position of the cluster. Finally, we will apply this
result to a set of field solar analogs with determined [Y/Mg] abundances and compare this value with the one proposed by our
clock using only their age and galactic position.
