This research investigates the so-called “inversion processes” that modulate modern Western living, taking as its axis Tim Ingold's formulation of the production of a “truly inverted world”: a world turned inside out and structured by technogenic cleavages between interiors and exteriors, in which the open environment is progressively banned in favor of its simulacra (images, models, interfaces, and schemes). It is argued that such processes are not restricted to the epistemological or representational plane, but also operate in topological registers of habitability, aesthetics, and science, consolidating interior spaces of “connected isolation” and producing “ex-habitants.” In dialogue with Sloterdijk, Martin, Haraway, and Tsing, it is argued that the logic of inversion participates in the extractive political economy of the Anthropocene, intensifying regimes of ecosystemic disturbance (plantations, mining, infrastructure) and converting them, through accumulation and feedback, into planetary atmospheric deregulation. Methodologically, this is a theoretical-bibliographic research.
