The research aims to analyze the perceptions of social assistance professionals, including psychologists, social workers, lawyers and educators, as well as LGBT users, regarding social assistance services for the LGBT population, in small municipalities in Paraíba and in the capital of João Pessoa. The research focuses on evaluating effectiveness and quality, as well as challenges encountered in services offered in these specific contexts. The methodology used involves collecting data through semi-structured interviews carried out with professionals and users. The work demonstrates the importance of understanding the perceptions of professionals and users of social assistance in different regional contexts, emphasizing the need to consider cultural and contextual specificities to reflect on the social assistance services offered to the LGBT population in small municipalities in Paraíba and in João Pessoa, which in terms of preliminary results, largely demonstrate a certain similarity in relation to the provision of services offered to the LGBT population and the perceptions of CRAS technical professionals towards this population.
