This qualification project aims to summarize the general guidelines of a doctoral research project on the "processes of inversion" that shape "modern Western" life. A concept proposed by Tim Ingold, the processes of inversion manifest themselves concretely and virtually in various facets of human social life, contributing to the consolidation of a "truly inverted world" - a world "turned from the outside in", divided into countless "externals" and "internals", where the former are banished in favor of their simulacra operated on the latter. Like a black hole, the processes of inversion "absorb the world". Despite its crucial role in the production of "modern" dwelling - manifesting itself in art, philosophy, science, architecture, design, education... - and its proponent's forceful theoretical advances, inversion processes are rarely directly addressed beyond his work. Expanding investigations into the characterization and operation of these processes is the main objective of this work. The research is based on bibliographical reviews on the subject.
