CHALLENGES AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE RESEARCH ON THE RELIGIOUS PHENOMENON: A study on the production of knowledge from the doctoral theses in the social sciences of Brazil
Knowledge. Knowledge production. Religion. Innovation. Social utility. Commercialization.
The present work proposes a study on production of knowledge about the religious phenomenon from the doctoral theses of the courses of social sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Social Sciences) at Brazil in the twenty years, in order to provide a consistent analysis of challenges and contributions, themes, theoretical repertoires, methodologies and subjects, as well as its absences, gaps, negligence and trends. The research is justified because, although the social sciences in Brazil have always paid attention to the religious phenomenon, although not always with the same intensity of interest, there are very few published works that attempt, in some way, to offer a survey, balance or consistent view on what has been researched about religion from the production of doctoral courses (theses). The theoretical contribution to the problematization and the object of study and analysis of the data come from authors of the sociology of knowledge and social sciences of religion, with a focus on aspects of innovation, social utility and marketing potential in the production of knowledge about the phenomenon religious. The methodology chosen for this research is called Converged Parallel Mixed Methods, since the data collected are both qualitative and quantitative, and the technique/instrument of data collection will be the Qualitative Content Analysis.
