IDEOLOGY, SUBJECT AND EMANCIPATION IN SLAVOJ IEK
Slavoj iek; ideology; subject; emancipation; social theory; political theory.
In this work we aim to investigate the political thinking of the Slovenian philosopher and psychoanalyst Slavoj iek. We take as a starting point the delimitation, description and reconstruction of the main concepts and themes that so much structure iek's political theory, as they have been reworked by the same during 1989 through 2010. These concepts and themes are concretized in the following triad: ideology, subject and emancipation. However, we have the hypothesis that although we can find relevant theoretical contributions regarding the concepts of ideology and subject in iek's work, his proposals for an emancipatory political project are vague, lacking elements that can substantiate a radical political practice.
