SUMMARY:
The cliffs along the eastern coast of Rio Grande do Norte are coastal landforms marked by complex geoenvironmental dynamics, where subaerial and marine processes continuously act on their morphogenesis and erosive evolution. Understanding these processes is fundamental for territorial planning and risk management, especially in areas with intense occupation and human use. Given this scenario, this thesis aims to apply geotechnologies for detailed mapping of cliffs, focusing on environmental modeling and the analysis of the positional accuracy of geospatial data in cliff sections of Tabatinga Beach (Nísia Floresta), Centro Beach and Baía dos Golfinhos (Pipa/Tibau do Sul), and Porto Beach (Baía Formosa). The methodology is based on the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft equipped with active (LiDAR) and high-resolution optical sensors, in addition to a GNSS positioning system with real-time kinematic (RTK) correction, to ensure and validate the accuracy and precision of the data. Aerophotogrammetric surveys and laser scanning of the cliff sections were conducted, allowing the generation of orthomosaics, Digital Elevation Models, and high-density point clouds. The results may demonstrate the effectiveness of these technologies in identifying erosive processes, mass movements, and volume calculations, providing technical support for a more assertive management of these coastal areas.
