Success prediction in inserted of the peripherally central catheter insertion in newborns.
Newborns, Prediction, Peripheral Catheterization, Venous Catheterization Central, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Newborns in critical condition hospitalized in Units of Neonatal Intensive Care often need therapy prolonged intravenous injection to restore your health and the catheter peripherally inserted central (PICC) is the most indicated for the infusion security of these solutions. However, placement of this catheter in newborns born can be difficult, making it a challenge for the nursing, predisposing the baby to multiple peripheral punctures, stress and pain. A particularly important aspect for this population is the lack of data on prediction equations for success in the insertion of the PICC. Thus, this study aimed to develop a prediction equation for successful insertion of PICC in newborns born.
