CULTURAL MEDIATION AS A STRATEGY OF CONNECTION AND DIALOGUE IN THE CONVIV'ART GALLERY
Conviv'Art Gallery; cultural mediation; cultural information; dialogical spaces.
The increasing changes and restructuring experienced by museums, cultural centers and educational services since the second half of the 20th century have significantly impacted the social, educational and representative aspects of society. These transformations have altered the way institutions are perceived by the public and led to the articulation of their work with the community and the territory. This is done through the dissemination of cultural information and the implementation of cultural mediation strategies, which aim to create inclusive, participatory, dynamic and reflective spaces for dialogue. In this sense, this dissertation aims to explore strategies to expand the university community's access to art exhibitions held at the Conviv'Art Gallery of the Art and Culture Center of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. To this end, it seeks to characterize the Conviv'Art Gallery, indicating its respective historical-organizational elements, as well as to identify the main factors that contribute to the low visitation of the university public to the gallery. Likewise, the aforementioned work seeks to develop an intervention proposal that encourages the participation of the university public in the Visual Arts exhibitions of the Conviv'Art Gallery. The methodological path has an empirical research, which included the observation of cultural mediation as a means of attracting university public and the application of a questionnaire, resulting from a significant experience for the public, which has enhanced the construction of knowledge and the learning process.
