Solidarity Practices and Gender: an anthropological reading of feminine experiences
solidarity economy; woman, gender anthropology; solidarity; fair.
This study aims to investigate the experiences of women involved in solidarity economy (SE)
activities and to understand how they engage with and perceive their participation in this
context. The solidarity economy proposes an economic approach based on cooperation and
solidarity, promoting sustainable and fair alternatives for the production, distribution, and
consumption of goods and services. Its fundamental principles include the appreciation of
collective work, democratic management of enterprises, and the reinvestment of profits
within the community itself. The author's interest in this topic arose during high school, while
monitoring a solidarity enterprise fair. Observing SE fairs and events, we can notice the
significant presence of women in the organization and participation of these spaces. To
deepen this understanding, an ethnography was conducted at these events, where women
sell their products. The aim is to capture the experiences and affectivities of these
participants within the context of the solidarity economy.
