this work analyzes the image production of the city of Natal/RN – Brazil through the work of local artists in their role in graffiti and pixo. From an ethnography of these images, goes to its relations with the city, as well as the understanding of its role in the production of images. Focusing on the artist's vision, initially the works of the artists Haom Rai and Kefren Pok, a methodology was developed based on participant observation, established mainly with the construction of a network conversation, to follow the works on the streets and urban art events. The preliminary data suggest that the “shapping” of these images implies a biographical action, that is, when walking through the city and intervening in its physical structure, one lives the life expressing it, emphasizing its conflicts and its contradictions. In this process the city is known and it is created a knowledge about it that is expressed in those visual interventions and in its process.
