RESUMO:
The exploitation of gas in deep water in Brazil brings challenges due to the high pressures,
the high content of CO2 present and CaCO3 carried from the carbonate formation to the production fluids.
The MEG regeneration process, used as a hydrate inhibitor, also presents a field of study regarding the solubility
and precipitation of the salts (CaCO3 and NaCl). In this context, this project proposes to set up an experimental
apparatus for the evaluation of phase equilibrium in mixtures that replicate the operating conditions of the gas
exploration in deep waters, evaluating parameters such as density and solubility at temperatures of 20 and 50°C
and pressures from 70 to 130 bar. Such apparatus consists of: Reactor Parr 4561; Densimeter Anton Paar 4200M;
Syringe pump; and Thermostatic baths. The present study intends to evaluate the binary system (CO2 and water),
ternary mixtures (CO2, water and NaCl, and CO2, water and MEG) and multicomponent mixtures (CO2, water, MEG,
NaCl; CO2, water, MEG, NaCl and CaCO3). The a priori experimental apparatus was already assembled, and in order
to evaluate its operation, preliminary experiments were performed at 20 ° C with CO2, obtaining results with
density deviations of 0.23% when compared with the literature. Then experiments with CO2 and water binary
were performed, whose deviation of the results was 0.076% when comparing with the literature.
