SUMMARY:

Brazilian legislation guarantees the right to education for all, including students with disabilities and other specific needs. It establishes Special Education as a cross-curricular teaching modality and Specialized Educational Services (AEE) as one of its services. The inclusion of this population in schools is often challenging and complex because it generally involves a large number and diversity of specific educational needs. Collaborative work is a promising strategy for developing inclusive pedagogical proposals that articulate teachers’ knowledge and experiences, with sharing of responsibilities. In parallel, the integration of digital technologies into schools has evolved from a model focused solely on operational use to one that involves cognitive aspects. This evolution motivated the creation of the policy and curricular component of Digital Education in Brazil, which incorporated knowledge from the Computing area into the Basic Education curriculum, as per the recent addition to the BNCC (National Common Core Curriculum). To ensure that students who are the target audience of Specialized Educational Services (PAEE) have access to the Digital Education curriculum, collaborative work between computer lab teachers, AEE teachers, and others presents itself as a promising strategy. Given this, the question arises: How do computer lab teachers collaborate/can they collaborate with special education teachers to include students with special educational needs (PAEE) in activities in the elementary school computer lab? The locus of this research is the municipal public elementary schools in the city of Paramirim/RN, and the subjects are the teachers of these schools. The general objective was to investigate the collaboration between computer lab and special education teachers during the planning of inclusive pedagogical activities on Digital Education. This research assumes general characteristics of the exploratory and descriptive type, with analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, with activities divided into 5 stages. The first stage sought to understand the experiences of collaboration between teachers in the regular classroom and special education teachers through an online questionnaire via Google Forms. The second stage sought to understand the experiences of collaboration between computer lab teachers and special education teachers, also through an online questionnaire. The third stage applied the documentary research method to identify evidence of collaboration among teachers in the development of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for PAEE students. The fourth stage conducted a case study with participant observation to analyze collaborative practices among teachers from Computer Lab and AEE during pedagogical planning of an activity on Digital Education. The fifth and final stage produced a technical report with a diagnosis of the collaborative experiences among these Elementary School I teachers to be delivered to the technical team of the Municipal Education Department of Parnamirim/RN. It is hoped that this diagnosis can support public policies that promote collaborative practices among teachers for school inclusion in the municipality.
