Youth and Adult Education (EJA) plays a fundamental role in promoting equal opportunities and combating illiteracy, in addition to allowing and emphasizing concepts for basic mathematics learning. The implementation of innovative methodologies offering a variety of visual and auditory resources is an alternative that can further strengthen students' probabilistic and statistical skills in developing pedagogical practice. With this in mind, this work proposes to answer the following question: How can a teaching sequence using video cases contribute to learning about the construction, interpretation and comparison of statistical data with students at EJA? This proposal recognizes the need to change the teacher's pedagogical practice to incorporate technological innovations into the student's daily life. Thus, the general objective of this study intends to analyze whether a didactic sequence using video cases can contribute to learning about the construction, interpretation and comparison of statistical data with students at EJA. The specific objectives are: i) Analyze academic production on mathematics learning; ii) Apply a sequence of video cases in an interactive way for teaching mathematics in Youth and Adult Education; iii) Identify the acceptance of a sequence of video cases for teaching mathematics in Youth and Adult Education; and iv) Check students' knowledge about the construction, interpretation and statistical data. To this end, the theoretical-scientific assumptions that support this discussion are affiliated with studies on scientific methodology (BRAGA, 2022; HADDAD, 2020, ALMEIDA, 2011, CRESWELL, 2010, FERRES, 1996). The research is characterized by being qualitative, using the action research method, carried out in the following stages: (i) presentation and awareness of the research theme, (ii) application of the questionnaire to outline the profile of the participants, (iii ) application of the pre-test and identification of prior knowledge about construction, interpretation and comparison of statistical data, (iii) intervention with the didactic sequence and use of videos and (iv) application of post-tests to evaluate the possible effects of the intervention. The choice of the research locus arose from the motivation that will allow innovative practice in mathematics classes through videos with themes that address the thematic units in the field of knowledge of information processing. The field research will be carried out in a state public school, located in the urban area, in the city of Ceara-Mirim/RN. An EJA class with approximately 30 students will participate. The technical product will address the investigation of how a didactic sequence using video cases can contribute to learning about the construction, interpretation and comparison of statistical data with students at EJA. Therefore, the research participants are young, adult and elderly students, living in rural and urban areas, enrolled in the high school EJA teaching modality, from a first-year class at the aforementioned educational institution. It is important to highlight that this institution receives students from both urban and rural areas of the municipality. This aspect is important for understanding the phenomena that will be evaluated in this study. Furthermore, the proposal presented during the application of the didactic sequence using videos will be characterized by the video process: making the student feel responsible for the process and making the video become an incentive for creativity, that is , the student feels like he or she is the protagonist of the process. The didactic sequence will take place through an educational process defined by a pedagogical workshop, which in addition to presenting specific probability and statistics content, aims to use audiovisual means, so that students achieve the expected learning. At the end of this study, we hope that students will take advantage of the statistical content obtained in each teaching unit, which will reinforce the statistical skills to be studied, especially in order to reduce failure and even school dropout in EJA.
