Since the beginning, humanity has had records of conflicts, whether to subdue other people or to protect itself. In the face of conflicting events, the need to develop structures that could help reduce or neutralize bodily damage during the conflict led human beings to search for raw materials present in nature, starting with leather, silk, linen, and wood. Later, more advanced structures were developed, such as laminated metals and artificial textile materials, such as glass fiber, carbon fiber and para-aramid. Among the materials developed, para-aramid is the main element used for the development of ballistic protection structures, whether for human or vehicle use, as it is light and has a high elasticity modulus. Therefore, the current work offers to develop six composite materials in which the reinforcement elements are composed of glass fiber and para-aramid, but with different textile structures, keeping the reinforcement content at approximately 28% as a priority. Ballistic plates have the advantage of being light and being able to have their geometry adapted. In this way, the performance evaluation of ballistic plates will consider the impregnation of the projected impact on the ROMA 01 plasticine, the behavior of the plate during the impact and the non-perforation of the plate. To determine the shielding efficiency, the test parameters proposed by NIJ 0108.01. The experimental test was possible due to the participation of the Military Police of Rio Grande do Norte – PMRN.
