In this work is implemented a frequency support in the converter stations control systems of a multi-terminal high voltage direct current (MTDC) grid, in order to ancillary services provision into electrical power systems. these converter stations is based in the modular multilevel converter topology. The frequency support is introduced by means of the modeling, implementation, and simulation steps of a MTDC transmission system connected into power systems, which is used to highlight capability direct current (DC) systems to ancillary services provision through of the converter stations operations. Hence, at first, the component models of the power system used in the case study are presented, such as alternative current (AC) and DC transmission lines, power electronic converter stations, synchronous generations, power transformers, and AC loads. Then, are introduced the implementation stages of the frequency support strategies of the test MTDC system in the simulation platform. Finally, the tests performed in the MTDC system in order to frequency support provision through simulations obtained from Matlab/Simulink are used to validate the experiments results
