Implementation of the ADRC Technique in the Radial Position Control of a Bearingless Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine.

Bearingless machines have their operation strongly dependent on the application of closed-loop control systems. Because they are multivariable, non-linear, time-varying systems with coupled variables, bearingless machines demand advanced control strategies for efficient operation and good dynamic performance. Control with active disturbance rejection using ADRC (Active Disturbance Rejection Control) considers the total disturbance of the system (composed of non-modeled dynamics, non-linearities, uncertainties and load variations) as a new state, estimated in real time, through an extended state observer. In this way, the ADRC can compensate disturbances in real time, eliminate steady-state errors and provide the system with a good dynamic response. In this sense, this work proposal aims to study and implement the control technique with active rejection of ADRC disturbances in the radial position control of a bearingless permanent magnet machine.
