Solution for user concentration (hotspots) via ICIC

This work aims to explore interference coordination techniques (ICIC) based on fractional frequency reuse (FFR) as a solution for a multi-cellular scenario that presents the concentration of users variant over time. Initially, we present the problem of the high concentration of users along with their consequences. Next, some classic solutions to the problem are discussed, leading to the introduction of fractional reuse of frequency and the existing techniques. Preliminary analyses are presented with the objective of comparing the performance of the techniques, justifying the choice of relevant parameters and presenting studies carried out in the proposed scenario in order to highlight the impact of the high concentration of users. Finally, the execution schedule for the completion of the work is presented.
