Multi Objective metaheuristics applied to problem of predictive control tuning

During system control design, the tuning step is vital for the control loops can yield of the maximum operating capacity, reaching goals defined previously. These goals can be related not only to the temporal response, as also to the performance indices and robustnes requirments. About the many objectives desired, two or more goals can conflict, not existing a unique solution whos optimize the tuned parameters. Under this perspective, we proposed use multi objective optimization based on evolutionary metaheuristics to realize the tune of a predictive controler. This controler have been chosen because they are very flexibles, being able to work with SISO and MIMO process, operationals restrictions, unstable systems, etc.
