APPROPRIATION IN MOVEMENT: FROM THE HOUSING CONSTRUCTION TO THE EVERYDAY LIFE OF THE MARIA DA PAZ SETTLEMENT
MST, habitat appropriation, collective work, technical advice, exchange of knowledge.
This work has as general objective to investigate the habitat of the Maria da Paz settlement, which was conceived and built collectively, in order to understand its possibilities of appropriation. Located in the municipality of João Câmara - RN, the settlement was built between 2003 and 2004 through the assisted task force, this moment being the result of a partnership between the MST, INCRA and GERAH (UFRN). After almost two decades of its collective construction, the following question arises: how was the habitat of the Maria da Paz settlement appropriated by its group of residents? The search has as object of study the relationship between the conception and collective construction (MST, GERAH and settlers) of the settlement and the current appropriation of these spaces. This research was developed based on the method O Desenho do Possível, created by the architect and urbanist Amadja Borges, who uses the method of discourse analysis developed by the [French] Institute of Urban Sociology (ISU) through open open; the regressive-progressive method, created by Marx and developed for the production of space, by Henri Lefebvre and the exchange of knowledge, following the teachings of the educator Paulo Freire. This research was based on the following hypothesis for a problem issue: in the Maria da Paz settlement habitat, the collective aspects of the moment of its conception and construction continue to be sustained in the design of the appropriate space over time.
