SUMMARY:

IThis thesis aims to investigate and highlight the various methodological approaches developed and employed by instructors in the teaching and learning of freehand drawing practices in remote formats between 2020 and 2023, within the three Architecture and Urbanism programs in Rio Grande do Norte (RN) that achieved the highest evaluation scores by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC). The hypothesis is based on the premise that successful remote practices emerged from the experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, expanding to some extent the possibilities for teaching and learning freehand drawing regardless of cultural context. However, these practices still show, at certain levels (pedagogical, formative, social, etc.), an impact on the professional training process, particularly regarding the implementation of content guided by the current curricular guidelines. Examining the remote teaching and learning experiences of freehand drawing at UFRN, UFERSA, and UNIRN allows us to reflect on the local processes of professional education and qualification, while shedding light on the discussion surrounding the implementation of remote and virtual resources, as well as the development of pedagogical projects in these and other higher education institutions. This contributes to aligning teaching practices with the advancement of digital technologies and with the broader national debate on professional education in Architecture and Urbanism.
