SUMMARY:

The training of multiprofessional residents within health services constitutes a key strategy for professional development and for strengthening the integration between education and service delivery in the Unified Health System (SUS), particularly in psychosocial care settings that require interdisciplinary and interprofessional practices. This study aimed to develop a pedagogical guide to support the integration and training process of multiprofessional residents at a Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS III), taking into account the needs identified in the practice setting. It is a qualitative study of a descriptive and interventional nature, grounded in the principles of Continuing Health Education (CHE) and Interprofessional Education (IPE), conducted at the CAPS III in the municipality of Caicó, Rio Grande do Norte. Fourteen individuals participated: five residents affiliated with the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Primary Care (PRMAB) of the Multicampus School of Medical Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (EMCM/UFRN), and nine university-educated professionals from the CAPS III technical team. Data collection involved the use of a semi-structured instrument designed to identify aspects related to work processes, resident integration, institutional communication, supervision, evaluation, and training needs. The intervention process was carried out through three in-person meetings held on April 29, May 6, and July 18, 2026, at the CAPS III in Caicó, RN. The findings informed the situational diagnosis and guided the conduct of participatory workshops aimed at critically examining the reality of the setting, as well as validating and refining the educational product. Strengths related to psychosocial care, multiprofessional teamwork, and in-service training were identified, alongside needs for greater systematization of resident integration, understanding of Psychosocial Care Network (RAPS) workflows, monitoring of training activities, interdisciplinary development of the Singular Therapeutic Project (PTS), communication between the team and residents, strengthening of preceptorship, and improvement of evaluation processes. As an educational product, a "Pedagogical Guide for Multiprofessional Mental Health Residents at CAPS III: A 12-Week Training Pathway" was developed; it is structured around thematic axes and progressive stages, featuring tools to support the monitoring and evaluation of the training process. The guide was created in alignment with the principles of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform, psychosocial care, Continuing Health Education, and Interprofessional Education, aiming to foster training that is critical, interdisciplinary, and integrated with service needs. It is concluded that the proposed objectives were achieved and that the product has the potential to systematize resident integration, strengthen preceptorship, enhance the training process, and expand the integration between education and service in the mental health field, thereby contributing to in-service training guided by the principles of the SUS (Unified Health System) and psychosocial care.
