SUMMARY:

INTRODUCTION: Accelerated population aging increases the demand for complex home care. Caregivers often assume this responsibility without adequate training, leading to family burden and risks to patient safety. Consequently, there is a critical need for educational technologies to train supporters who can qualify home care within the Unified Health System (SUS). OBJECTIVE: To develop an evidence-based, multimodal educational technology tailored for training home care supporters of dependent older adults. METHOD: A two-stage study. Stage 1 consisted of a scoping review based on the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and PRISMA-ScR guidelines (PCC: Caregivers; Training methodologies; Home setting), with searches conducted across national and international databases (including MEDLINE, CINAHL, SCOPUS, and BVS). Stage 2 consisted of developing a technical-educational product grounded in knowledge translation, converting the review findings into an active pedagogical proposal. RESULTS: The scoping review included 12 studies, showing a predominance of face-to-face, individualized training programs targeting family caregivers. A critical gap was identified regarding the incorporation of active methodologies, home simulation, and structured debriefing. To address these gaps, the educational product for Unit 2 of the SerTão+Cuidado Project was developed, titled "Atuação no Domicílio: Ética, Humanização e Técnicas para o Cuidado Responsável". The product consists of a face-to-face course featuring dialogued lectures, case studies (the "Seu Expedito" Case), home environmental simulation using the "Sala dos Horrores" (Room of Horrors) technique (focused on active home risk identification), group discussions with reflective debriefing, and the collaborative construction of intersectoral action plans integrating the Health Care Network (RAS) and the Unified Social Assistance System (SUAS). CONCLUSION: This study expanded scientific knowledge by consolidating a cycle of translating evidence into practical technology. The educational product represents an innovative and highly replicable proposal to strengthen continuing health education, empower supporters, and promote ethical, humanized, and safe home care for dependent older adults in the SUS.
