Introduction: Primary bloodstream infections (BSIs) associated with Central Venous Catheters (CVCs) are among the most serious adverse events related to healthcare. Although most of these infections are considered preventable through evidence-based practices, adherence to recommendations for CVC insertion, maintenance, and removal remains a challenge in healthcare services. In this context, Continuing Health Education strategies and the use of educational technologies, such as care flowcharts, may contribute to the standardization of clinical practices, support clinical decision-making, and strengthen patient safety culture. Objective: To develop a flowchart as a multiprofessional educational tool for the safe management of Central Venous Catheters. Methodology: This is an action-research study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, conducted in the Intensive Care Unit of a public hospital in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The study was conducted in five stages: (1) situational diagnosis of the multiprofessional team involving 28 professionals (n=28), through the assessment of knowledge and practices related to safe CVC management; (2) development of a flowchart based on identified gaps and national and international guidelines; (3) evaluation of the flowchart’s applicability and usability by institutional reviewers; (4) implementation of an educational intervention based on Continuing Health Education principles, involving 22 professionals (n=22), using dialogical presentation of the flowchart, clinical case discussions, and simulation-based learning; and (5) post-intervention assessment to evaluate knowledge acquisition and participants’ perceptions regarding the contribution of the educational technology to clinical practice. Results and Discussion: The situational diagnosis revealed satisfactory knowledge among professionals regarding CVC management; however, gaps were identified in the standardization of practices, adherence to institutional protocols, and compliance with some preventive measures. The flowchart showed high acceptance in terms of clarity, organization, applicability, and potential for use in clinical practice. After the educational intervention, an improvement in participants’ knowledge was observed, especially regarding preventive measures for CVC-related infections, demonstrating the potential of this strategy to support the translation of scientific knowledge into clinical practice. Conclusion: The flowchart proved to be a feasible and applicable educational technology in the hospital setting, contributing to the standardization of care practices, strengthening Continuing Health Education, supporting clinical decision-making, and promoting patient safety culture. It represents a promising strategy for multiprofessional training and prevention of healthcare-associated infections
