“Rescue and cataloging of cordels as an instrument in popular health education”.
Cordel literature. Catalog. Health promotion. Popular health education
Health promotion and popular education are closely linked, allowing the relationship between professionals and users to occur horizontally and with the exchange of knowledge. In this context, cordel literature, as a means of linking information and as an accessible language instrument, fosters a dynamic that reflects this relationship. Thus, the aim of this research is to rescue and catalog cordels from the Djalma Mota cordel library at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Caicó campus, whose themes cover health issues in order to create a tool that facilitates access to this literature for health promotion activities as well as making this topic more relevant. It is a documentary research, with a survey of all the cordels available in the cordelteca that address health topics, including disease prevention, body care and healthy habits.
