RESUMO:

Introduction: with the persistence of the incidence of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) infection, the progress of care for people living with HIV / AIDS and the characteristics of a chronic condition expansion and improvement of the care line directed to this population, involving other health services, which includes Basic Care. However, there are controversies about the care of people living with HIV / AIDS at this level of health care, both in their view and in that of health professionals. Objective: to analyze the perception of professionals of the Family Health Strategy and of people living with HIV / AIDS related to the decentralization of the health care of these people from the specialized level to Primary Care. Method: it is a qualitative research, of descriptive and exploratory character. The data will be collected through individual semi-structured interviews with users of the specialized care service and focus group with the professionals of the Family Health Strategy. The data will be analyzed using the Bardin content analysis technique. Expected Results: It is hoped to explore the role of Primary Care in the care of people living with HIV / AIDS, its possible obstacles and fragilities, and may contribute to the necessary rearrangements, through actions and strategies to strengthen Primary Care and the role of the Family Health Strategy in the coordination and co-responsibility of the care of these people.
