SUMMARY:

Introduction: The elderly population presents a degree of frailty that increases the risk of social vulnerability. Due to this vulnerability among older individuals, public policies have been developed targeting this population, aiming to promote social participation, autonomy, protection, and health promotion. Justification: It is important to ensure the systematization of care through the development and validation of a health care record (booklet) for bedridden older adults in the interior regions of Rio Grande do Norte. This aims to contribute not only to improving the quality of life of this population but also of their families and caregivers. Objectives: To validate the health care record for bedridden older adults based on the evaluation of expert judges. Methodology: This is a methodological development study with a quantitative approach. It focuses on the development and validation of a health care record for bedridden older adults. The research will be divided into two stages: Construction of the health care record; Validation of its content and appearance. The content and appearance validation will be conducted by professionals who specialize in elderly health. Additionally, Home Care Supporters (Apoiadores do Cuidado Domiciliar – ACD) from the Sertão+ Cuidado research project will be invited to contribute to the material. To develop the record, a literature review will be conducted using databases to collect materials such as articles, protocols, experiences in care systematization, and national and international guidelines on the health care of bedridden elderly individuals. This includes recommendations to assist both the care and health of older adults and their caregivers. The data will be stored and processed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.0 for Windows. Expected Results: It is expected that the content and appearance of the health care record for bedridden older adults will be validated. The material produced is intended to effectively guide the systematization of care for bedridden individuals, covering certain pathologies, exercises, and caregiving practices for caregivers and family members, with the aim of preventing pain and health complications. Additionally, it may be used for patient health records.
