Introduction: In recentyears, severalstudieshavebeencarriedoutonthe use ofpsychostimulantsamong medical students in Brazil. Fromtheabove, theobjectiveofthisworkistoanalyzetheconsumptionhabitsofcognitivestimulants in universitystudents. Objectives:Theobjectiveofthisworkistoanalyzetheconsumptionhabitsofcognitivestimulants in universitystudents; andamongthespecificobjectives: toidentifythemainbrainstimulantsusedbyuniversitystudents; toidentifythemainmotivations for the use ofcognitivestimulantsbyuniversitystudents. Method:The sample wasofthe non-probabilistictype, thatis, for convenience, composedofallstudentsofthe EMCM Medical Course, approximately 250 regularlyenrolled. For data collection, a standardized, self-completedquestionnairewithobjectivequestionswasused. The aforementionedinstrumentwassentbythe UFRN SIGAA, whose response andsendingperiodwasestablishedbetweenthemonthsofSeptember 2021 toOctober 2021. Results: Intensivecare, in thepresentstudy it wasfoundthattherewas a lowprevalenceofthe use ofanxiolyticsandamphetamines, contrarytotheresultsoftheresearchpresentedhere, whichrevealtheprevalenceofthe use ofpsychoactivedrugsamong medical students. Conclusion:Therefore, institutional policies ofaneducationalnature, guidelinesand a support network are needed in ordertoraiseawarenessoftheinfluenceandeffectsoftheuncontrolledanddisordered use ofthesepsychoactivesubstances.
