SUMMARY:

Dental trauma in childhood is recognized as a public health issue, with a high prevalence in the school environment. The lack of preparedness among teachers to manage such situations further exacerbates the problem. This study aims to propose a permanent education program for elementary school teachers from both urban and rural areas of the municipality of Caicó/RN, with the goal of equipping them to recognize, prevent, and manage dental trauma in the school setting. This is an interventional action research study using a quantitative approach, developed through synchronous online workshops based on Kolb’s experiential learning theory and the principles of Permanent Health Education (PHE). The study phases include the application of pre- and post-intervention questionnaires, the development of workshops, and the creation of digital educational materials. It is expected that the intervention will contribute to expanding teachers’ knowledge, promoting a safer school environment, and strengthening the integration between the health and education sectors.
