  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • INTRODUCTION: Aging is a natural, universal process that reduces functional activities and affects all individuals throughout life. It manifests itself in all dimensions, being more complex in the physiological, emotional, economic, sociological and interpersonal relationships, thus influencing social well-being. The real consequences of the aging process are directly linked to a set of factors that make adults experience different physiological changes. BACKGROUND: Faced with the increasing number of elderly people in the world each year, and the various changes in the aging process, the relevance of building strategies that meet all the social and health demands involving the elderly population was perceived. AIMS: To build an efficient education and health strategy to improve the functional capacity and motor performance of the elderly at the Irmã Ana Dias Basic Health Unit in the city of Caicó-RN. METHODOLOGY: This is a cross-sectional, exploratory study with a quantitative approach. The research is being developed in the perimeters of the Basic Unit of João XXIII in the city of Caicó-RN, involving elderly people aged 60 years or more, registered in primary health care. The Barthel Index is being used to assess an individual's functional capacity to carry out Basic Activities of Daily Living, and the Short Physical Performance Battery assessment is being used, which assesses physical performance through three tests: standing static balance in three positions; strength and power of the lower limbs through the movement of getting up and sitting down from the chair; and walking speed, at usual pace. EXPECTED RESULTS: It is expected that the results of this research will enable efficient strategic development so that the elderly population residing in the urban area of Caicó-RN can reach the appropriate levels to improve their functional capacity and motor performance, thus bringing benefits to their health, mitigating the deleterious effects of the aging process.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Brazil has a high prevalence of Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases, especially diabetes mellitus, which is an important public health problem that compromises the quality of life of users of the Unified Health System. This study aims to build and validate an assessment instrument and Wound monitoring for people with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Primary Health Care in the city of Caicó. This is a methodological study divided into two major stages: instrument construction and content validation. For the construction, an integrative literature review was carried out using articles selected from national and international databases. The study population was made up of volunteer experts, who after guidance, clarification, authorization and signing of the free and informed consent record, validated the content of the instrument. The data found was entered into Microsoft Excel 2016 and tabulated manually. For data analysis, the Content Validation Index was used, calculating through the judges' agreement according to each item of the instrument. Please note that all judges have experience with diabetic wound care. Furthermore, of 20 sub-items of the instrument, only 5 of them (25%) had a CVI lower than 1, with the remainder having a CVI equal to 1. Thus, all judges established “relevant” or “very relevant” concepts. to the items, thus providing an excellent result for the instrument. After validating the proposed instrument and completing the study, we assume that the municipality of Caicó will receive subsidies for the implementation of a Skin Commission, which will provide systematized assistance for applying dressings and treating patients with injuries.

  • The Permanent Education Centers (NEPS) are characterized as an organizational strategy for carrying out educational actions to qualify work processes in the SUS. Using the NEPS, it is possible to institutionalize coordination with educational institutions, identify and develop professional qualification activities, empower professionals to identify that work is, in itself, formative and encourage discussions about public health policies and their management . The present study aims to analyze the process of establishing the Center for Permanent Education and Community Teaching Service Integration (NEP-IESC). The investigation brings a qualitative approach of an exploratory-descriptive nature, structured based on action research. During the process of living-acting-reflecting, elements categorized into three meaning cores were observed: i) Fragilities and Tension; ii) Potentials and Needs; iii) Plans and Notes. In addition to the procedural analysis of the phenomena emerging from these centers, we identified the need to create an Operational Guide for the implementation of the NEP-IESC. We hope that this guiding instrument will be incorporated by the Caicó Municipal Health Department with the fundamental intention of strengthening Teaching-Service-Community integration and professional qualification.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Medical education in Brazil undergoes socio-political changes from the 1960s onwards, with a focus on pedagogical restructuring emphasizing Primary Health Care and teaching models based on meaningful learning through problem-based teaching methods. The initiation of the implementation process of the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences of Rio Grande do Norte (EMCM-UFRN) in 2012, the launch of the Programa Mais Médicos in 2013, and the publication of the National Curriculum Guidelines for Medical Courses in 2014 brought crucial changes for analyzing medical education today. These transformations aim to produce socially and politically engaged, humanistic physicians capable of meeting the community's needs and the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS).In the undergraduate medical program at EMCM-UFRN, an innovative example of this shift is the curriculum component called "Vivência Integrada na Comunidade" (VIC), which stands out as a longitudinal internship anchored in Social Accountability as a theoretical-methodological reference. Thus, this study aims to analyze the pedagogical process of VIC modules in the training of medical students at EMCM-UFRN. Through qualitative research characterized by an exploratory and descriptive approach, strengths and weaknesses of these modules were identified through document analysis and the creation of categories for reflection, namely: i) "Will we be able to handle all of this?": Educational principles of EMCM; ii) "A sea of possibilities": Formative Itinerary in VIC modules; and iii) "Experiencing in practice the medicine that awaited us outside the university": Pedagogical intentionality in VIC modules. We conclude that VIC modules have an intentional and counter-hegemonic formative character, bringing the reality of SUS and its political organization as a learning scenario through work, providing students with contact with the daily lives of people, workers, and users during their medical education. A result of the research was the creation of a Guide for VIC Students at EMCM-UFRN, containing essential information, logistical procedures, rights, duties, and previous experiences, filling logistical and pedagogical gaps in the modules.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The objective of this study was to analyze the concept of virtual reality (VR) in medical education. This is a conceptual analysis based on the methodology suggested by Walker & Avant. The methodological steps were developed based on a scoping review, as proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). The literature search was performed in the following databases: PUBMED, PMC, SciELO, Google Scholar, LILACS, MEDLINE, IBECS and CUMED, using the descriptor "Virtual Reality" and its respective translation into English and Spanish. The final sample consisted of 49 studies. Eight attributes, eight antecedents and sixteen consequents of the phenomenon studied were identified. Two cases were constructed for a better clarification of the concept analyzed, one being the opposite case and one model case. Finally, the following definition was constructed: VR is a simulation technology, developed from software that promotes interaction and immersion in a virtual environment, in a three-dimensional way, with or without the use of avatars. It is a safe, accessible, flexible, possibly cost-effective, and ethically recommended resource. It promotes the development and improvement of medical and interprofessional skills, offers increased knowledge, confidence, satisfaction and improvement with learning outcomes. The amplified understanding of VR in the medical context may contribute to the improvement of teaching-learning processes in health, as well as reflect on better training and professional qualification.

  • Introduction: The teaching and learning process is related to the individual's level of motivation, which increases the greater their understanding of psychological needs. Intrinsically and extrinsically motivated behaviors are
responsible for the success or failure of the subject in this learning process. Thus, active learning methodologies bring the student as a protagonist in the construction of knowledge, seeking their highest level of motivation and using tools that reinforce this idea. Virtual Reality, an immersive technology tool, supports this process, which increases knowledge, confidence and satisfaction. Objective: To evaluate the effect of virtual reality on self-confidence, motivation and acquisition of clinical skills in medical students in the context of cardiology teaching. Methodology: This was an experimental study of the pre-test and post-test type applied to a random experimental group (virtual reality teaching) and a control group (traditional teaching), in students in the seventh period of the module "Dyspnea, Pain chest pain and Edema" from the medical course at the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. A short course was held, aiming to train students to manage acute coronary syndrome. Specific questionnaires were applied to assess motivation, self-confidence, skills and experiences using virtual reality, in addition to a sociodemographic questionnaire. Results: The averages of confidence in intervening appropriately in an individual with chest pain, in recognizing signs and symptoms of a cardiac event, in accurately assessing an individual with dyspnea, in evaluating the effectiveness of interventions in an individual with chest pain, and the motivation to believe in being an important activity and personal decision were significantly greater in the control group in the pre-test in relation to the experimental group. At post-test, confidence in accurately assessing an individual with chest pain and in intervening appropriately in an individual with chest pain were significantly higher in the control group. Global motivation in the control and experimental groups differed significantly across the interventions. Conclusions: The difference in average confidence and motivation was more evident in the group with traditional education at a pre-intervention time. The acquisition of skills was similar between the experimental and control groups.

  • The fundamental principles of the Unified Health System (SUS), such as universality, comprehensiveness, and equality in access to healthcare, reflect a commitment to the comprehensive provision of services. However, the discussion about access goes beyond availability, encompassing health impact and care quality. The challenge of decentralization and regionalization of the healthcare system in Brazil is notable due to regional disparities and the complexity involving multiple stakeholders. Although decentralization provides greater autonomy to municipalities, it reveals challenges, especially in specialized care, due to the resolution of Primary Health Care and the fragmented organization of healthcare services. The National Regulation Policy of SUS seeks to operationalize regulatory functions, highlighting Referral Protocols as tools that guide clinical and management decisions, aiming to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare system. In this context, this dissertation aims to develop a personalized referral protocol for patients with orthopedic conditions in a school clinic. Therefore, the present research will be a descriptive case study with a qualitative approach. Data collection will be carried out at the Multicampi School Clinic of Medical Sciences in the city of Caico - RN. The approach will include the analysis of the efficiency of care, considering variables such as waiting time, quality of services provided, and effective utilization of resources available at the clinic. Additionally, the referral flow of patients from Basic Health Units to orthopedic specialty services will be analyzed. Data will be collected through direct observations, documentary records, in order to inform the creation of a protocol that optimizes patient flow and contributes to efficient resource management at the school clinic. Finally, the 5W2H tool will be applied for the formulation of a referral protocol within the school clinic, consisting of an exploratory and evaluative methodology. Results showed that despite the strengths of the current system, challenges related to the referral of orthopedic patients were identified, such as referrals without proper justification or reason, the lack of Rheumatology professionals in the municipality, and referrals solely for medical reports. The creation of a clear flowchart and standardized referral form are important initiatives in this process, facilitating communication among different stakeholders and ensuring that all necessary information for adequate patient care is provided. These tools not only optimize the referral process but also contribute to more effective and personalized care, aligned with the specific needs of each patient. Furthermore, the Orthopedic Referral Protocol presents a systematic approach to different orthopedic conditions, providing clear criteria to guide healthcare professionals in decision-making regarding the need for referral. Its organization by specific diseases and conditions facilitates the identification of situations requiring referral and promotes a more precise and individualized approach for each patient. In this context, it is concluded that it is essential to optimize referral processes, adopting more careful approaches in assessing patient needs and promoting better coordination among available healthcare services.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Shift handover is a strategic tool used to organize the work of the nursing team and ensures the continuity of patient care during the change of shift between teams. Failures in this process can lead to deficiencies in care and harm to patients' health, which can be overcome through correct communication techniques, pre-structured and standardized protocols, promotion of mutual respect among professionals, continuous professional education, and ongoing professional development. Therefore, this study aims to develop an educational technology for training nursing teams in the context of hospital shift handover to improve patient safety. To achieve this, methodological research was conducted to construct audiovisual educational technology in two stages: Stage 1: Scoping Review; and Stage 2: Educational video construction. For the scoping review, based on the Joanna Briggs method, the following phases were followed: identification of the research question; identification of relevant studies; study selection; data mapping; grouping, summarizing, and reporting results. To identify eligible studies, the descriptors Nursing Team, handover, shift handover, and hospital were used and searched in electronic databases: Pubmed, Science Direct, EMBASE, Scielo, and Scopus. For the second stage of video construction, the following steps were developed: definition of the set of objectives; review of the scientific literature; planning and elaboration of video content; and video construction and editing. In the first stage of the research, the scoping review presented 9 eligible studies that indicated the use of videos and clinical simulation as effective training strategies, with the ISBAR/SBAR tool being the most used for content systematization. Therefore, for the construction of the video, information on the important items for shift handover identified in the scoping review was used to construct the scenario, in which the context of the transition of the shift in a hospital ward occurs with a dialogue between two nurses, with content based on ISBAR/SBAR. It is concluded that the identification of the main training methods for the transformation and improvement of the shift handover process as well as effective communication in patient safety and their knowledge can guide interventions to improve work processes. And that the development of educational technology, such as videos, can easily be accessed by healthcare professionals, guiding them in modifying skills and attitudes that promote improvement in their work processes during shift handover.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Childbirth care has undergone several transformations aimed at adopting good humanization practices in healthcare institutions. In this context, the use of technologies in the labor process, such as simulation as an active methodology, constitutes an important resource that bridges the gap between obstetric practice and strengthens the autonomy and protagonism of parturients during labor and delivery. This approach helps minimize the negative effects of childbirth and reduces insecurities and fears related to vaginal delivery. The main objective of this study was to develop a health education activity on non-pharmacological strategies for pain relief during labor, directed at pregnant women, using simulation as a support tool. This is a participatory research study, specifically action research, analyzed qualitatively through content analysis techniques. Data collection was carried out at the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences (EMCM/UFRN), located in Caico, RN, Brazil. The simulated activity was conducted in the EMCM/UFRN simulation and skills laboratory, after approval by the Research Ethics Committee. The study population consisted of a group of seven people: five pregnant women and two companions who met the established study criteria. The participating pregnant women were collaborative and engaged, showing interest in participating in further experiences involving simulation and suggesting topics for future activities. It is concluded that this research provided pregnant women the opportunity to visit EMCM and practically experience non-pharmacological pain relief methods available for use during labor at the reference maternity hospital. This study is expected to support other simulation-based experiences for pregnant women, encouraging vaginal delivery and promoting greater integration between education, healthcare services, and the community.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • According to INCA, the estimate for Brazil for each year of the 2020-2022 triennium is 625,000 new cases of cancer per year. Some types of cancers have screening methods that can diagnose them at an early stage. Breast cancer is responsible for about 30% of cancer cases in women and with an estimate of causing 15% of deaths caused among other types of cancer. Between 50 and 69 years, MS recommends screening with mammography. Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, with approximately 530,000 cases and 275,000 deaths every year. Cytopathological examination of the cervix is recommended by the Ministry of Health as a screening test. The recommendation is to perform cytopathological examination in women aged 25 to 60 years. This work aims to evaluate the accessibility of screening methods available for breast and cervical cancer in the female population recommended for screening by the Ministry of Health in the municipality of Caicó/RN from 2014 to 2020. In this municipality, it was observed that access to mammography exams is superior to other regions. There is a great access of the population recommended by the Ministry of Health to screening mammography exams and, consequently, there is a lower diagnosis of breast cancer. It is observed that access to screening results in a lower percentage of deaths when compared to the other regions studied. Screening data for cervical cancer show that the municipality of Caicó has an average about three times higher than the national, regional and state scenarios. However, preventive screening tests at high rates and histological tests at similar levels did not result in a decrease in the percentage of deaths as expected. The Northeast region has the highest average percentage of deaths from cervical cancer, followed by the municipality of Caicó and the state of Rio Grande do Norte. More in-depth studies involving technical and logistical aspects in carrying out preventive exams are necessary to identify the possible causes of this incongruity.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The Medical Internship is a final stage of the undergraduate course experienced by students in health services. Facing the daily reality of the future profession, inherent in this training stage, is considered a source of concern and stressors, which can impact the quality of sleep and predispose to the emergence/worsening of mental disorders. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the quality of sleep and the symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress in students of the Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas do Rio Grande do Norte (EMCM-RN/UFRN). The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee. The invitation for voluntary participation was sent to everyone who was attending the Medical Internship in December 2021. Participants should sign the Term of Free and Informed Consen and fill out four electronic forms prepared in Google Forms: Socioeconomic questionnaire; Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI); Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) and Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS-21). From a sample of 80 students, only 28 answered the questionnaires. The sample profile indicated a mean age of 26.5 years (± 5.3 years), with a predominance of females (54%), single marital status (79%), Catholic religion (68%), with family income two minimum wages (39%), who live with family (32%) or friends (32%); and with the need to change city and/or state due to the medical course (93%). The average score obtained in the PSQI was 7 points (± 2.8 points), indicative of poor sleep quality and present in 68% of the sample. Students reported sleeping an average of 6 hours/night (± 0.64 hours), counted from the time they reported going to bed (23.03 hours ± 0.89 hours), waking up (5.5 hours ± 0, 57 hours) and taking time to fall asleep (21.25 minutes ± 14.38 minutes). An average score of 10 points (± 4.59 points) was obtained on the ESS. Despite the ESS index being indicative of the absence of complaints of excessive daytime sleepiness, we observed that 36% of boarding students had sleepiness and 14% had severe sleepiness. In the DASS-21, the general classification was considered normal only for the stress component (64%). More than half of the students (57%) reported symptoms of depression or anxiety, with the moderate classification being more prevalent in both. From the study, it was observed that poor sleep quality, excessive daytime sleepiness and symptoms of depression and anxiety were prevalent in students of the Medical Internship of this institution, highlighting the importance of surveying the mental health condition and the pattern of sleep of Medical Internship students as an essential component in the search for coping strategies and harm reduction in favor of professional medical qualification. Expansion of the sample can be considered a strategy to add robust relationships to the results.

  • The Health Strategy Family Program amplifies the possibilities of access to the services and care for health maintenance through distinct points of view and knowledges. The essential and derived attributes are foundational elements of the Primary Healthcare acting as evaluation instruments and monitoring its quality. In this context, health related professional qualification programs focused on Primary Healthcare must present them as the direction that grounds the professional practice. This study aimed to identify how Primary Healthcare attributes are being considered and approached by the Primary Healthcare Multiprofessional Residence and by the residence program on Family and Community Medicine of the Medical Sciences Multicampi School. This is a quantitative research, descriptive, in which a questionnaire was applied regarding the level of knowledge over the approach of Primary Healthcare attributes on the qualification process, and the application of the Primary Care Assessment Tool Brasil (Professional version) with 37 students of both residence programs that are also enrolled on Basic Healthcare Units in Caicó/RN and Currais Novos/RN counties, from April to September 2022. From the obtained data, the attribute related to First Contact Access (Accessibility) had the lowest score (3,04), being Coordination – Information Systems the attribute with the highest score (8,07). Amongst the others, just Integrality – Available Services (7,03) and Familiar Orientation (8,01) obtained satisfactory scores. Both the Essential Score (5,97) and the General Score (5,92) were below average. Considering the possibility of being a reflex of the lack of specific guidance to the Primary Care attributes as a structured direction of the political-pedagogic projects of the residence programs, given that she is used as main scenario within the qualification process.

  • The Programa de Residência Multiprofissional em Atenção Básica (PRMAB) of the Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (EMCM/UFRN) in partnership with the Municipal Health Departments of Caicó/RN and Currais Novos/RN, aims to provide training for professionals from different health areas based on reflective, critical, humanistic and ethical practices with social responsibility in the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). The Health Care Networks of the municipalities of Caicó/RN and Currais Novos/RN are the practice settings for PRMAB workers-residents. In Caicó/RN, one of the facilities that is part of the teaching-learning process through work is the Hospital Estadual Telecila Freitas Fontes (HETFF), which is placed as a rotation for the workers-residents of the second year of PRMAB. This study aims to produce a proposal for an educational itinerary for workers/residents of the Programa de Residência Multiprofissional em Atenção Básica at the Hospital Estadual Telecila Freitas Fontes as a practice scenario. This is a qualitative, exploratory research that uses documentary research as a methodological theoretical framework. The analysis of the documents was influenced by the social place occupied by the researcher as a preceptor and graduate of PRMAB. Therefore, we used as data collection tools the researcher's field diary, with notes dated from March 11, 2022 to July 2022, as well as the evaluation of the rotation in the hospital unit contained in the activity reports of the residents who passed through the service in the years 2021 and 2022.  This proposal is materialized in a manual, which provides information about the hospital unit, the PRMAB and the rotation at HETFF, proposing the learning objectives, the possible activities to be developed (with script suggestions), the standard schedule and the elaboration of a final product of the rotation. With this, we hope to contribute both to the qualification of the teaching-learning process of workers-residents who work in the HETFF as a segment of Primary Care, and to the improvement of Health Care in the municipality of Caicó/RN.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The social demands related to the specificities of the new health professional led to the transformations in medical education. Therefore, the National Curricular Guidelines suggest that the Pedagogical Projects of Medical Courses contemplate the adoption of active teaching and learning methodologies, in which the student must be protagonist and autonomous in his teaching process and the teacher a facilitator, in addition to ensuring a citizen formation, (re)recognizing himself as an agent of social transformation and guarantee of rights and duties. In view of the methodological possibilities, clinical simulation stands out, which prepares students for learning in a clinical environment. Thus, the objective was to build and propose a clinical simulation program for medical education at the undergraduate level. To this end, a study of multiple methods was adopted, carried out in phases, contemplating in step 1 - the documentary study and in stage 2, the educational action research. The data collection took place in Patos, a city of Paraíba, based on information collected in documents from the Medical Course of the University Center of Patos (UNIFIP), as well as from professors of the Medical Humanities (MH) and Primary Health Care (PHC) axes. As a result, we obtained the mapping of the competencies of the course, the characterization of the laboratory structure of UNIFIP to support the practices of clinical simulation, programmatic contents and the experiences of clinical simulation of the HM and PHC axes. From these results, it was possible to delineate a clinical simulation program for medical education, with emphasis on primary health care and clinical communication skills, based on the simulation experiences existing in the UNIFIP Medical Undergraduate Course.

  • This study aimed to identify and analyze the challenges of offering EBC curricular components in remote format in the early years of the medicine course at EMCM, with a view to fulfilling the social responsibility of the medical school in Seridó Potiguar. It is qualitative research of explanatory character and complemented by documental analysis of data, documents and information related to the curricular components of EBC offered. In August and September 2021, a focus group was held with 8 students and one with 6 professors, belonging to one of the first 4 periods of the medicine course at EMCM/UFRN, with the discussions being recorded, transcribed, gathered and then analyzed with the help of Atlas.ti.9® software and following the proposal of thematic content analysis by Minayo, Deslandes and Gomes (2007). From the analysis of the collected data, the following categories emerged: EBC and Medical Education; EBC challenges in remote format; Strategies, proposals and initiatives to overcome challenges; Institutional involvement in the EBC in remote format; Involvement of faculty and students; and EBC in remote format and compliance with the medical school's social responsibility. It was possible to understand that students and professors recognize the potential of the EBC to ensure the social responsibility of the medical school, but the results show that several challenges arose in its provision in a remote format, demanding different strategies without adequate planning and without sufficient institutional support. Based on the analysis of the information obtained, the proposals were considered punctual and ineffective, causing weariness and illness in the faculty and did not prevent, in general, feelings of discouragement, uncertainty, overload and anxiety to be (re)inserted in the community were perceived in the students. From the findings provided by the perceptions of the investigated students and teachers, it is inferred that the offer of EBC curricular components in remote format did not sufficiently contribute to the fulfillment of the social responsibility of the medical school in Seridó Potiguar, assuming, instead, a configuration of meaningless harm reduction, disconnected from the local reality and distant from the EBC principles. The research points out that without the support, training, structure and disposition of the school, teachers cannot alone, and even get sick, trying to structure the curricular components of EBC within the reality of remote education.

  • INTRODUCTION: The Multiprofessional Residency in Health (RMS) is a postgraduate modality that promotes learning based on the insertion of postgraduate students into real practice scenarios in the world of work. In the municipality of Caicó, one of the learning scenarios is the Occupational Health Reference Center (CEREST). In this space that makes up the Unified Health System in the IV Health Region of Rio Grande do Norte, it is offered to residents rotations of activities under supervision/preceptorship in an interprofessional way of the workers of this health equipment. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to analyze to what extent the presence of PRMAB residents influenced the work process of CEREST health professionals. METHODOLOGY: This is qualitative research of descriptive and exploratory character developed through the technique of content analysis, with the participation of 03 workers from CEREST and working directly with the residents. RESULTS: Thus, it was possible to construct three categories, namely: Knowledge and Preparation to work in Occupational Health; Residence x Preceptorship: perceptions, weaknesses and strengths and the working conditions of CEREST/Caicó professionals. We noticed that the interviewees have knowledge about workers' health, emphasizing the deficiency of the human resources framework. Still, regarding residency, it emphasizes the importance of residency and preceptorship and that the working conditions of cerest have a direct impact on workers' health actions in the IV Health Region/RN and on the training process of residents. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that CEREST has been going through a process of institutional dismantling over time, influencing the working conditions of professionals and, consequently, impacting the training process of residents.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Multidisciplinary work is essential for the assistance to emergency situations to be successfully remedied, especially in the context related to obstetric urgency and emergency, which needs specific scientific, practical and technical knowledge, so that quick and concrete decisions can be taken, transmitting security to the entire team and especially reducing the risks that threaten the patient's life. With this in mind, the study aims to develop a protocol for setting up a room for emergency care in the obstetrics sector, based on an integrative literature review. Methodologically, this study is an integrative literature review, based on protocols and documents that regulate obstetric care. The search took place in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), using the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library On Line (SCIELO), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE) and through “grey” literature, through academic Google. To select the studies, the following descriptors were crossed: Protocol, Obstetrics and Emergency. Inclusion criteria were: reports on the creation of protocols, protocols aimed at hospitals at usual risk, full article, free access and permeating the topic discussed, in addition to monographs, theses and dissertations. During the search for academic works and crossing of those described, it was possible to identify a total of 85 studies, through databases and directed search. After careful reading, 4 studies were selected, named E1, E2, E3 and E4, (1 in the databases and 3 through directed search) to compose this integrative review. The results indicated 1 scientific article, 1 dissertation, 1 Ministry of Health Guide and 1 Protocol. Among the years in which the surveys were carried out, it is noted that 3 were published in the last 5 years and 1 more than 10 years ago. The collected data were presented, analyzed and discussed through the construction of summary tables and the following analysis categories: Maternal Mortality due to obstetric complications and Permanent and continuing education as a strategy to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. From the study, it was possible to evidence a difficulty and scarcity of material on the subject in question, as well as the importance of standardized care, based on evidence and based on theoretical support, in order to reduce risks, complications, and rates of maternal mortality and consequently provide more qualified, effective and safe obstetric care. Thus, it is concluded that the understanding of multidisciplinary protocols is simple and at the same time complex, as it requires responsibility, attention, care, commitment and a lot of seriousness. Since, the different areas of knowledge are interrelated and vary according to personal goals and expectations, arising from individual, collective and professional perceptions, and if there is no seriousness, professionalism and dexterity can cause serious health risks.

  • The general objective of this study was to provide training for health professionals in Basic Life Support [Suporte Básico de Vida- SBV] and to analyze the method of in situ simulation as a strategy for health education on urgency and emergency topics in the context of Primary Care [Atenção Básica-AB]. This is a research-action. The following steps were followed: situational diagnosis, planning, intervention, data analysis, and results dissemination. In the situational diagnosis, the mapping and characterization of the structural, material, and human resources of the Primary Health Care Unit were carried out. For this, we used as official documents the Evaluation for the Improvement of Access and Quality of Primary Health Care (AMAQ) and the manual of the physical structure of the Healthcare Units (UBS). For the sociodemographic characterization, the participants filled out an identification form. Lectures, skills training, and in situ simulation sessions were planned and performed. Moreover, complementarily, clinical simulation sessions. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee under number 5,163,206; CAAE: 54027521.7.0000.5568. The qualitative analysis was carried out using the Collective Subject Discourse [Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo-DSC]. After establishing the situational diagnosis of the local Healthcare Units of the study, it was possible to identify that its structure differs, partially, from what is recommended in the official documents of the Ministry of Health. As for the materials, equipment, and supplies for urgency and emergency care in the Primary Care, it was possible to identify that decisive items for this kind of care were not available at the time of data collection, not meeting what is recommended by the National Policy of Urgency and Emergency. Most participants are female (75.0%), with an average age of 41 years, community health agents (25.0%), with an average time of professional training of 7.3 years, and time of professional experience of 8 years. Most had no training in Basic Life Support (66.7%) and urgency and emergency (66.7%). Regarding self-confidence to deal with emergencies, it was possible to identify that participant improved their response pattern in the post-test, assigning higher levels of self-confidence to work in emergencies. It also identified the contributions of the in situ simulation method for Basic Life Support training, its limitations and potentialities. It is expected that this work will contribute to improving the quality of care for the local population.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Primary Care is the main gateway to the individual's health demands, and the most frequent cause of demand for care at this level of care, pointed out by some studies, are psychic complaints. Some other factors aggravate this scenario of exacerbated consumption: the patient's desire to use the medication to solve personal, family and/or economic problems, the doctor-patient relationship and the professional's attitude of not feeling comfortable in denying the drug prescription; difficulties in quick access to the specialist doctor and the counter-reference; excessive demand for consultations, which reverberates in insufficient time for the adoption of conducts such as counseling, guidance, care shared with other team members and/or introduction of weaning from the medication already in use. Such factors imply a significant and worrying increase in prescriptions of psychotropic drugs in Primary Health Care, given that in most cases, these drugs are prescribed without a definition of a therapeutic regimen that takes into account and/or reassess the condition. of the patient being temporary or permanent for the use of that drug.

  • Introduction: Medicine courses require high levels of dedication and work and each student deals differently with the stress imposed on academic daily life. In recent years, several studies have been carried out, albeit in an incipient and inconclusive way, on the use of psychostimulants among medical students in Brazil. Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of the use of cognitive stimulants by medical students and, among the specific objectives: To characterize medical students according to sociodemographic variables, identify the main brain stimulants used by students, relate the consumption of psychostimulants with the general health of academics. Method: The sample was non-probabilistic, for convenience, composed of students from the EMCM Medical Course. For data collection, a standardized, self-completed questionnaire with objective questions was used. Results: The sample consists of (n=51) students participating in the research on the use of cognitive stimulants by medical students. It was found that there was a low prevalence of the use of anxiolytics and amphetamines. Conclusion: Therefore, institutional policies of an educational nature, guidelines and a support network are necessary in order to raise awareness of the influence and effects of the uncontrolled and disordered use of these psychoactive substances.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The self-learning of puerperal women, through access to content based on scientific evidence on ways to improve sleep in the postpartum period, can be one of the strategies for preventing sleep deprivation and associated problems. Currently, the use of mobile technologies stands out (smartphones, tablets, notebooks, E-readers, among others) to access content that facilitates self-learning. Thus, the objective of this study was to build and validate an educational mobile app called "Postpartum Sleep" for mobile devices. The study was carried out in three stages: 1) bibliographic review; 2) construction the application; and 3) validation of the content, appearance and usability of the app. The educational content available in the application comes from articles from the last ten years obtained through an integrative bibliographic search, using PubMed electronic databases and other important references. The search terms included the Descriptors in Health Sciences - DeCS: sleep, postpartum, sleep deprivation and sleep disturbance. Software development programs (SDK) for Android devices were used to build the mobile app. The mobile app was developed with Javascript language for offline use on smartphones and tablets. This elaboration stage followed adapted co-design methodology of Millard. Content and appearance validation was performed by five judges with bexperience in Human Chronobiology and at least a master's degree, by calculating the Content Validation Index (CVI) obtained. Also at this stage, the usability assessment was carried out using the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire, completed by the target audience of 36 postpartum women from the Ana Bezerra University Hospital (HUAB), after a week of using the mobile app. The mobile app culminated in 19 screens, with the initial “Menu” screen consisting of four domains entitled (1) Importance of good quality sleep; (2) Postpartum sleep; (3) Adequate postpartum sleep; and (4) Postpartum women: strategies to improve sleep. Most judges who participated in content and appearance validation were biologists with teaching experience in Chronobiology and Sleep, aged between 35 and 45 years. The content evaluation index (CVI) showed 100% agreement on all items, while the appearance evaluation ranged between 80% and 100%, denoting the performance of adjustments. The profile of the puerperal women who participated in the usability validation stage of the application pointed to a prevalence of normal delivery, high school education and multiparous. The System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire obtained a score greater than 75 points, being considered good and acceptable. Thus, the mobile app "Sono postapartum" can be considered a tool of great potential for use in teaching-learning on subjects related to aspects of sleep for puerperal women, assuring developers of its applicability and availability on digital platforms in a way safe and reliable.

  • The relationship between Reception in health services and the gender debate is a growing discussion in the field of Public Health. Violence against women constitutes a persistent and multiformsocial phenomenonarticulated by psychological, moral and physical facets. This recognition by workers of a Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS) should be considered as a fundamental condition for the quality of care provided. This dissertationaims to analyze the reception practices of CAPS professionals in mental health care for women in situations of violencein a city of Rio Grande do Norte. This is an action-researchwith a descriptive exploratory nature and a qualitative approach. Data were collected at two different times, namely: i) open questionnaire; ii) conversation wheel. In the first stage of data collection a printed questionnaire was given to all CAPS workers, addressing issues related to the practice of Reception for women victims of violence. These data were used to build a common narrative to set the Conversation Circle, the second moment of data collection. The results were organized from the analysis of the implications allied to the thematic content analysis. Three core meanings were created - Identification of women victims of violence, Reception reduced to the alienated technique, Permanent education and the critical knots for assisting women victims of violence. The results reveal a negative view of the care offered by the CAPS to women victims of violence. Welcoming as a praxiological strategy in human care is not carried out in a qualified manner and boils down to a checklist of questions that does not allow identifying the suffering of women victims of violence. The workers of this health facility are technically involved in relation to the care that ends in the verbal identification of violence for referrals to other facilities. The need for Permanent Education and the construction of a Line of Care to qualify the attention to women victims of violence in the CAPS who have their non-verbal complaints made invisible is notorious, which demonstrates a functional structure in the work of the team, fragile in relation to questions of gender.

  • The number of cases of children diagnosed with ASD is increasing and with this increase the concern in the care of these patients also grows, since it is necessary that professionals can offer treatment and monitoring effectively and with appropriate strategies so that they have a good performance in their day-to-day activities. It is also essential that these professionals can understand the world of these children and, together with the family, can develop a better way of treating them. The present study aimed to identify the difficulties and needs for improvements perceived by health professionals from a Rehabilitation Center in the region of Seridó/RN that serve people with ASD, as well as to prepare an informative material (Technical Scientific Report), to be delivered to the secretariat. municipal health service in Caicó/RN in order to communicate the weaknesses found in the service, thus contributing to the work process of these health professionals. This was an exploratory research with a qualitative approach, carried out between January and May 2022, based on interviews with 16 health professionals, which were recorded, transcribed and then analyzed following the proposal of thematic content analysis. The survey shows that most professionals working in the CER are female (68.75%), with an average age of 36 to 45 years (56.25%) and with a length of service of 2 to 4 years (81, 25%). The following categories emerged: Process of care for children with ASD at CER; Professional/family relationship; Difficulties in caring for children with ASD; Service improvements; Comprehensive care for children with ASD. Some of the factors that make service difficult are the lack of training, infrastructure, integration with the team, material resources, limitations of professionals, among others. The results obtained are of great relevance for future research, considering the interfaces experienced by them in the care context.

  • Introduction: Musculoskeletal diseases have a significant impact on society, due to the morbidity and costs they entail. Despite its high prevalence, the teaching of the musculoskeletal system is neglected in medical schools, making it difficult to address these complaints, especially in primary care. Efforts are made to fill this gap and, among these, the teaching of musculoskeletal physical examination associated with clinical anatomy. Objective: to implement the teaching of the musculoskeletal physical examination, associated with clinical anatomy, in an integrated medical curriculum and to evaluate the students' perception of the strategy used and the skills acquired about it. Methodology: Descriptive study, of qualitative nature, which used the methodology of action research. Forty students from the Escola Multicampi de Ciênci09as Médicas (EMCM) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) participated during two curricular components. In the second year, there were 5 theoretical-practical activities, aimed at teaching the musculoskeletal physical examination associated with clinical anatomy. An Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) assessment was applied. In the third year, the same students performed a musculoskeletal physical examination in outpatients. At the end, a questionnaire (Likert) was applied to assess the students' perception of the strategy used to teach the musculoskeletal physical exam and the acquired skills. Results: Using clinical vignettes of the main painful syndromes (upper and lower limbs and spine), teachers of rheumatology and anatomy led students to search for related anatomical structures in full-body mannequins and parts of the axial and appendicular segments, leading to understanding relevant points of the musculoskeletal examination. Subsequently, based on these activities, another physical examination training was carried out by students in pairs. In the third year, the physical examination of the various segments was performed by all students on real patients, under the supervision of a teacher. Regarding the strategy used, all students agreed that clinical anatomy guided the learning of the physical examination and helped with clinical reasoning regarding musculoskeletal complaints. The students also replied that they are safe in performing the physical examination of most of the surveyed segments. Final Considerations: The use of clinical anatomy for training the musculoskeletal physical examination within an integrated curriculum, may be a way to improve this clinical skill of the future doctor thinking about general training. The maintenance and improvement of the curriculum strategy at EMCM, can be experienced in other medical schools, especially those with a curriculum based on active and student-centered methodologies.

  • The Programas de Residência em Saúde (PRMS) are modalities of postgraduate courses lato-sensu that can operate both with Higher Education Institutions and Health institutions. The Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas (EMCM), a specialized academic unit that belongs to Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), presents two multiprofissional health residency programs that function in partnership with some external institutions, which grants the execution of some work processes in a particular way. Thus considering aspects of historical and local contexts, this study aims to build a manual of procedures that may help the residentes, managers, tutors, teachers and the secretariat of EMCM in managing the PRMS. By conducting a technical research of exploratory character, taking in consideration the experience of the researcher as a secretary of the programs, the aim was to discover the reasons that historically caused the dificulties found and also techniques that could help the parts involved to solve these situations. That said, it was possible toc reate a manual for rules and procedures that contains, among other subjects, informations about the programs, its main administrative procedures, rights, obligations and prohibitions Applied to the residentes and more. So, we conclude that a guiding document such as a rulebook has a great potential to help solve many problems that exist in the public servisse, making the access to the information much easier, making the guidance for organizational practices, helping the update and improvement of processes and improving the definition of authors and their role in the processes, among others.

As we enter the 21st century, population aging will cause an increase in social and economic demands, and worldwide, the proportion of people aged 60 and over is growing faster than that of any other age group. The practice of physical activity is an important strategy for health promotion and brings countless benefits, especially for the elderly, among which stands out a greater longevity, reduced rates of morbidity and mortality, improved physiological capacity in patients with chronic diseases, maintenance of independence and autonomy, in addition to psychological benefits. In this context, we can observe that, as in other places, the city of Caicó (RN) has a significant number of individuals involved in the regular practice of physical activities, among these individuals the elderly stand out. It is worth emphasizing that actions directed by local diagnoses of health teams may, in addition to being planned, be possible to carry out and evaluate, highlighting the commitment of public managers to the active aging pacts recommended by the World Health Organization. Based on these perspectives, this study is relevant for investigating the motivational reasons for the practice of physical activity in the elderly, as well as identifying the factors associated with regularity and continuity, since, in Brazil, scientific investigations that address the reasons that lead elderly people are still scarce to practice physical activity regularly. This is a study involving 30 individuals aged 65 and over, characterized as epidemiological and cross-sectional. Data were collected in Basic Health Units of Primary Health Care in the municipality of Caicó (RN) in the period from March to April of the year 2020. It is concluded that the regular practice of physical activity by the elderly has become essential for a better quality of life, and that the results found in this research indicate that the female gender is more interested in these practices, that the main health conditions are associated with the presence of comorbidities such as heart disease, hypertension and lung diseases, and also, that the main Motivational reasons that lead the elderly to practice physical activity on a regular basis are mainly related to the search for health and sociability.

  • The need for changes in schooling made it possible to use new ways of teaching and learning more in tune with the demands of society. In the Brazilian context, Active Teaching and Learning Methodologies (AM) have been adopted, in line with the National Curriculum Guidelines, so that there is the active participation of the student and that he can become a protagonist in the construction of his knowledge. For this, the health preceptor emerges in an essential role in this process, being the professional who works within the environment of assistance in health services, also turning it into a teaching environment for professional practice. Thus, the aim of this study was to identify the conceptions and practices of preceptors about the use of AM teaching-learning in the context of preceptorship in health linked to the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences of Rio Grande do Norte (EMCM-RN). Study with a quantitative-qualitative methodological approach, of an exploratory-descriptive type, developed with the preceptors linked to the EMCM-RN master's degree. Data collection was performed using an online form, with analysis of quantitative data using simple descriptive statistics. The qualitative analysis took place through the Collective Subject Discourse. The results of this study made it possible to find, for the profile of the preceptors, an average age of 36 years, an average training time of 10.2 years, and a length of experience of the preceptorship of an average of 3.6 years. The majority were female, with academic training in Nursing, and the highest academic degree was Specialization. In addition, half of them reported using AM in their field of action, the following being mentioned: Fishbowl, PBL, Problematization, Simulation, TBL, Discussion or Case Study. Such results also made it possible to perceive that AMs enable an excellent articulation between the daily experiences lived in the practice of services, and education based on the construction of knowledge, in an inter-relationship established between the preceptors and the students. Therefore, it is necessary to know and make use of different ways to facilitate knowledge. In addition, it can be considered that AMs offer the possibility to build new ways of conducting health training, as it is a possible instrument to overcome traditional teaching models. Finally, it is considered that the perception of preceptors about AM teaching and learning is of great importance for the construction of actions that meet their pedagogical needs for the process of training new health professionals.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The sleep pattern and duration are important health-related factor. There is evidence of urbanization promoting irregularity and sleep deprivation, related to the increase of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and obesity in the world, although scarce literature describes such associations in rural populations. This study evaluated the sleep pattern, occurrence of EDS, and self-reported obesity in a population sample from the rural area of Caicó in the state of RN. Data collection was performed using the Sociodemographic and Munich Questionnaires, with the addition of questions to assess naps; Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS); weight, and height. The final sample had 309, distributed in nine rural communities, with greatest prevalence of subjects over 51 years old (40%), female (66%), with less than primary education (65.5%), with a partner (76.8%), with income of less than three minimum wages (91%) and who did not directly practice any rural activity (63.5%). Most respondents reported a sedentary lifestyle (58.4%), having three meals a day (59.4%), non-smokers (88.1%) and non-alcoholics (72.6%). The sleep patter (Bed time: 9 pm; awakening: 5 am; approximate duration of sleep: 8h/night) did not present variations between week days and weekends, based on these data, a low rate and amplitude of social jet lag was observed. Based on the chronotype classification for this sample, the predominance of morning (34.4%) and intermediate (36.6%) chronotypes was observed. There was an occurrence of EDS in 20% of the sample, concomitantly to the reporting of naps, which lasted an average of 1h/day (73.8%). Self-reported overweight was observed in 66.3% of the sample, with a significant association with age, marital status, presence of at least one obese parent and chronotype. Thus, the study revealed that the sociodemographic profile was similar to that of frequent users of the health service in that area and that residents of the rural area of the semi-arid region allocate the sleep episode in response to the environmental and sociocultural factors experienced, such as geographic positioning, low urbanization, daytime demand for rural labor, prevention of thermal exposure and solar irradiation. In addition, the low variability in the expressed sleep pattern and the duration of sleep per night, associated with the frequent habit of napping, suggest that this rural population has a satisfactory amount of sleep, which could be associated with the low prevalence of EDS. Overweight seems to be related to advanced age, female gender and chronotype, as well as sedentary lifestyle. Finally, it is considered that revealing sociodemographic and behavioral habits in association with sleep pattern, occurrence of EDS and obesity in this sample population is of great importance for the construction of actions that meet their health needs and for the formulation of strategies to the prevention of diseases.

  • This dissertation describes the factors that influence the choice of the specialty of Family and Community Medicine by students from the first classes of the medicine course at the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), headquartered in Caicó, region of Seridó, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The aim of this study was to investigate the factors that influence the choice of Family and Community Medicine as a specialty, correlating them with the pedagogical project of the course (PPC) and with the students' socioeconomic aspects. This is an exploratory research, with data collection through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire with 23 undergraduate students from the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th periods, ensuring representativeness of each period of the internship. The results express the answers of the 23 medical students interviewed, according to the attached questionnaire (Appendix A) with 17 questions. The majority of the sample is male, half of the students are 25 years old or younger and only 25% of the students are over 27 years old and 60.87% come from a private school. As for the origin of the students, 19 come from the interior of a state and only 4 from the metropolitan region and 95.65% were admitted to the university through some inclusion policy of the federal government. The results of the study demonstrate that students who choose Family and Community Medicine do so because of personal convictions, which may have an influence on the course's pedagogical project, but also have previous roots in the students' life history.

  • Competency-Based Medical Education has been much discussed and its use by medical schools has been encouraged both nationally and internationally. In medical education, the Competency-Based Curriculum must contain a description of the competences and skills that will be acquired by the student throughout the course, which must be written in the form of learning objectives. The aim of this study was to structure specific skills in the area of Diagnostic Imaging in the Undergraduate Medical Education at the Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas do Rio Grande do Norte (EMCM-RN). The present study was carried out in two stages: 1) conducting a literature search and document analysis; 2) structuring a proposal for a Skills Matrix in the area of Diagnostic Imaging in undergraduate medicine as an educational product. The results of this review pointed to the absence of a description of national literature objectives. However, in existing international consensus documents and
guides published by Societies of Radiology. In this way, using these documents as references, the learning objectives in the area of Diagnostic Imaging were structured in the undergraduate course in Medicine at EMCM-RN, and a longitudinal distribution was carried out in 21 of the 24 thematic modules that run in the previous four years of the course.

  • INTRODUCTION: The residency in the health field is characterized as a lato sensu postgraduate course. The medical field was a pioneer in offering this type of specialization, and its good functioning served as a model to expand in other areas of health. In this sense, there is a uniprofessional tradition in the curricular structuring of multiprofessional residencies in health where, even with the regulation for the exercise of thirteen categories, interprofessional initiatives happen in a partial way, not exploring all their potential and applicability. OBJECTIVES: To analyze the process of adopting interprofessional education in health  in the multiprofessional residency (RMS) from the perspective of residents and professors. The specific objectives are: to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the methodologies for adopting interprofessional education in the RMS from the perspective of residents and professors; identify the main lessons learned for strengthening interprofessional education in the RMS; discuss main recommendations for strengthening IPE in the RMS; and identify needs and challenges related to teacher development for IPE in the context of the RMS. METHODOLOGY: Based on the problem and purposes, this is a study with a qualitative approach and a descriptive-exploratory character. The study will be developed with the multiprofessional residency classes in health at the headquarters of the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences located in the municipality of Caicó/RN, an integrative unit of the State University of Rio Grande do Norte. The study will have participants, residents and permanent teachers participating in both residency programs. The research data will be collected through unstructured interviews applied to teachers and focus groups that will be conducted with the residents of both professional programs of the multiprofessional residency. The collected data will be analyzed using the theoretical framework of Bardin, where we will use content analysis, with subsequent construction of categories. The content analysis technique presupposes some steps, defined by Bardin as: pre-analysis; exploration of the material or coding; treatment of the results obtained, inference and interpretation. RESULTS: The main learnings mentioned were: strengthening the training process from an interprofessional and collaborative perspective, developing collaborative skills for effective teamwork, broadening the user's understanding, and their needs, as the center of the health service production process . The most relevant recommendations were: teacher development for alignment with the theoretical-cocneitual and methodological frameworks of interprofessional education in the multiprofessional health residency and group discussions among residents to share learning and collectively build knowledge.

  • Introduction: Through the internalization of medical courses in inland cities of Brazil, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte creates the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences (EMCM/UFRN). In order to promote professional fixation and broaden the internalization policy, in addition to the undergraduate medical course, in 2017 the fifth postgraduate program, was installed, the Medical Clinic Residency Program (PRCM), whose main practice scenario is the Seridó Regional Hospital (HRS), was installed. One of the main objectives of these programs is to impact the work processes and organization of the practice scenarios. This study is an experience report that combines the program’s residents and HRS health professionals. Objective: to understand the perception of HRS health workers and researcher resident about the influence of the PRCM in this care space. Methods: this is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with HRS health professionals and a field diary. From the data, three thematic categories were created, analyzed from a critical-reflexive perspective: Strengths and Challenges; Routines; Relationship between preceptors and residents. Results: Notably, there was a benefit in terms of health care for the region's population after the implementation of the PRCM, but improvements are still needed in relation to the curriculum, preceptorship and the interprofessional relationship. Conclusion: We identified the need for adjustments in the PRCM that can be made after a more detailed evaluation of the residency program in medical clinic including the main leaders of the institutions involved.

  • Introduction: The Multicampi School of Medical Sciences was implanted in Caicó / RN, having as one of its fundamental axes the community-based teaching, aiming at forming critical and reflective individuals to act in the concreteness of the Unified Health System (SUS). Initially, the undergraduate medical course was created and, soon after, post-graduate modalities emerged, as is the case of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Primary Care (PRMAB). Objectives: To analyze the process of insertion of residents Multiprofessional Residency Program in Health (PRMS) within the scope of health management, in Caicó-RN. In addition, we sought to know the strengths and weaknesses of the students' insertion in the view of the workers of the Municipal Health Department (SMS); identify the challenges faced by workers to exercise preceptorship in management, and finally, build a flowchart of insertion of residents in the various sectors of HSE as a way to optimize the preceptorship process in management. Methodology: This is a qualitative study of a descriptive and exploratory nature developed through the focus group technique, with the participation of 10 SMS instructors who work directly with residents. For the analysis of information, content analysis in the thematic modality was privileged. Results: In this way, it was possible to build two thematic categories composed by their respective subcategories, namely: Limits and possibilities for the insertion of residents in the SMS of a municipality in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte: Organization and operationalization of activities within the scope of management; Potentialities and weaknesses in the development of practices; Challenges of the exercise of preceptorship in the scope of health management x teaching-service integration: Relationship between preceptors / residents for teaching-service integration; Challenges of preceptorship in health management; Optimizing preceptorship: contributions from preceptors. Final Considerations: In general, the PRMS proved to be an important training mechanism in management scenarios. However, research has shown that there are still a number of weaknesses in the organization and operation of actions that still deserve greater attention and care from their coordinators and preceptors involved. It is hoped that the results of the research and application of the flowchart conceived here can contribute to a better ordering of preceptorship practices, as well as to strengthen the work process of preceptors and the health training of residents

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • In Brazil, the process of childbirth and birth is in a scenario of medicalization and hospitalization, remaining a challenge to reduce maternal, perinatal and infant morbidity and mortality for public health. The present study has as its general objective: To understand the role of the Multiprofessional Maternal-Child Residence/EMCM/UFRN in assisting women during labor, delivery and postpartum at the Hospital do Seridó in Caicó / RN. It is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research was carried out at the hospital's maternity hospital. Data collection instruments were applied to preceptors, R2 and puerperal women of normal delivery. According to the perception of the puerperal women, some data are very positive, such as respect for privacy at the birth place, presence of the companion, free walking, use of some non-pharmacological methods of pain relief and respect for the golden hour. However, some practices should still be eliminated, such as the adoption of the lithotomy position, kristeller maneuver and episiotomies. From the perspective of the professionals, we realized the importance of the residents, when verifying that they implemented the use of non-pharmacological methods of pain relief (bobath ball, backrest or ling bar, massages, warm bath, aromatherapy, chromotherapy, music therapy, exercises respiratory and pelvic mobility) as a way to humanize care; residents welcome, guide, give support for parturient women to take the lead; they helped to respect the hour of the hour, when offering neonatal screening and with the liaison visit, next to the hospital. Related to the weaknesses found in the HS, are listed: obstetric violence, medical-centered model, outdated, reduced number of professionals, work overload, lack of preceptor, communication failure, physical structure, shortage of materials and equipment. Finally, in order to minimize the weaknesses found, professional training aimed at good childbirth care practices, implementation of protocols, and greater investments in human and material resources in this maternity ward is essential.

  • The Community Integrated Living (VIC) appears as a proposal of an active methodology acting in the integration of the triad teaching-service-community, acting as something innovative in the process teaching learning. As this is a module of the medical course of the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences (EMCM), it provides the student with the opportunity to insert himself in several fields of the health system, besides promoting the integration between the university, managers and health workers. The following research seeks to identify the potentialities and challenges of the formative experience in pre-hospital care developed in the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) from the perspective of the student. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study that used as data both the experience of the researcher in SAMU and the reports of the students about the impact of the insertion of SAMU in their training. Four categories were created from the thematic analysis: "The moment in central SAMU consisted only of a conference"; "As we entered the service we became part of what was previously mere speculation"; "Every experience is valid for training, even if we do not achieve all expectations"; and "Teaching and learning are master springs of the same process", with which the students' talks were worked out.  The results achieved prove that VIC contributes to the strengthening of academic and professional training, besides allowing students to collaborate with the professionals of the service in which they are inserted, helping SAMU and EMCM-UFRN to remedy or minimize the weaknesses pointed out, guaranteeing a greater use of VIC by serving as a guideline for other training institutions that wish to implement this methodology in their curricula.

  • The Multicampi School of Medical Sciences was created through the Mais Médicos Program, in order to reorient medical distribution and training throughout the country. As an extension of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, the Multicampi school advanced with the policy of interiorization, bringing training opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students in the health area in regions far from large capitals. Initially the undergraduate course in medicine was created and then the postgraduate modalities were created, such as the Multiprofessional Residence in Primary Care. The present study seeks to discuss the implications of the Multiprofessional Residency in Health of the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences for the strengthening of Primary Health Care in Caicó-RN. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study using the interview technique, with the participation of 18 professionals who work as preceptors, 10 of whom are college-level (doctors, nurses and dentists) and 8 of middle-level (nursing technicians). In this way, three thematic categories were built, namely: Changes in the dynamics of health work with the insertion of the residence; Challenges to enhance the performance of residents; Expectations related to the performance of residents. In general, the Multiprofessional Residency in Health proved to be a potent transformer of realities, instigating teams to produce health and knowledge in an innovative way. However, in this process there are still weaknesses pointed out that need to be remedied to ensure a better use of these professionals, in addition to being able to serve as a basis to measure their impact on the community.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • With regard to women's satisfaction with the nursing care offered during the parturition process, the literature prioritizes a quantitative assessment of these aspects, not allowing to know the women's opinion about the quality of care offered during childbirth and birth. Thus, giving voice to users is a way of evaluating the practice of obstetric nursing and stimulating actions based on public policies for humanizing childbirth and birth, guiding the adoption of practices that respect the freedom of choice of women in the decision-making processes of care. The general objective of this research is to analyze the perception of puerperal women about the assistance to labor and birth provided by obstetric nurses. This is a descriptive study, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, which uses the interview technique, through the application of a semi-structured questionnaire. The closed questions established the sociodemographic profile of the women, as well as described obstetric and neonatal characteristics, and listed used by nurses. The open question referred to the mothers' perception of obstetric nursing care during labor and birth. The socio-demographic and obstetric profile of women assisted in the institution that represents the field of this study was outlined, as well as the establishment of categories that characterized the interviewees' perception of the assistance provided. Most of the participants maintained a stable relationship, had a complete fundamental level and were primiparous. Four categories of responses were formed, entitled: nurse as a support figure, nursing enabling the humanization of childbirth, nursing favoring the physiology of childbirth, and natural childbirth without unnecessary interventions versus feeling of helplessness. The results point to a reflection on institutionalized childbirth, which made the practice of some interventions part of the hospital culture. Thus, qualified listening and effective communication are essential for women to feel at ease and free to experience this unique moment of their life. The importance of qualifying in more detail indicators related to assistance is emphasized, such as the professional who indicates or performs interventions, since, even if the delivery is attended by an obstetric nurse, other professionals are included in the course

Thus, this research showed the importance of analyzing assistance through the users' voices, valuing the subjectivity of the moment that represents delivery. The importance of qualifying in more detail indicators related to interventions is emphasized, which may favor more targeted research on the assistance of the multidisciplinary team.

  • This study aimed to develop and to validate six medium fidelity Basic Life Support clinical simulation scenarios in Primary Health Care. Development and content validation descriptive study. American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care and Cardiovascular Prevention Guideline of the Brazilian Society of Cardiology between 2015 and 2019 were used to develop the scenarios. According to Fabri et al. (2017), author elaborated seven criteria for scenarios: previous student knowledge, learning objectives, theoretical foundation of activity, scenario preparation, scenario development, debriefing and evaluation. A list of experts was prepared based on network professor adviser. Experts received two attachments: a document containing the scenario, the sociodemographic characterization and the scale of agreement and Free and Informed Consent Form (ICF).  Experts who did not respond the validation through emails we sought and those who partially responded were excluded. The sample was consisted for seven experts. Medical or nurses experts with experience in clinical simulation and BLS and minimum master's degree validated and judged those scenarios according to Content Validation Index (IVC). Majority of them were between 35 and 45 years old, were nurses, had doctorate as maximum degree, worked as teacher, had professional experience up to 14 years and experience in clinical simulation time of 5 to 8 years, had Basic Life Support experience of 13 years or more. Scenarios obtained CVI between 85.7% and 100%, and experts' suggestions were incorporated into the scenarios. Construction and validation of clinical simulation scenarios brings greater reliability to scenarios themselves and make facilitators waste less time for their construction, however there is not adaptation to local peculiarities. In addition, it allows its reapplication by other professionals, facilitators, teachers or scholars who work with clinical simulation.

  • Suicide attempt is a self-directed, non-fatal and potentially harmful act designed to result in death, whether or not it can result in injury. Among the countless cases of psychiatric outbreaks that are admitted to the hospital is the suicidal patient, with a considerable fraction of recurrence. Therefore, welcoming the person with a fundamental suicide attempt, because if performed safely, promptly and quality, it is possible to determine the patient's acceptance and adherence to treatment. The objective was to evaluate the attitudes of health professionals towards the patient victim of self-harm with suicidal intent; analyze the profile of victims of notification for self-harm with suicidal intent at the Seridó Regional Hospital Unit, in the period from 2015 to 2019; to develop permanent health education workshops with a focus on welcoming and assisting patients who are victims of self-harm with suicidal intent. It is an action research involving two phases, using a self-administered affirmation questionnaire, permanent education workshops and reapplying the questionnaire to identify changes. The instrument was applied to 104 professionals from August to November 2019 in the urgency and emergency sectors and medical clinic of UHRS Telecila Freitas Fontes, Caicó / RN, demonstrating that higher education professionals have more proactive attitudes towards the victim of suicide compared to mid-level professionals. 264 forms of compulsory notification for self-harm were analyzed, completed between the years 2015 to 2019, showing 59.1% of the total suicide attempts in the city of Caicó / RN, with a higher occurrence among women (62.1%), single (51.9%) and use of exogenous substances (51.33%). The data reinforce the need for reflection on the high rate of suicides and suicide attempts, pointing out the importance of the organization of the health network as a whole and the qualification of professionals in the face of complex decision making, including the public health problem.

  • During pregnancy, women go through a series of physical, mental and social changes that, as a consequence, can generate anxiety and fears. One of the ways of coping with this situation is the involvement in support groups shared between women who live the same process. This study seeks, through the involvement of the researcher herself, to present an illustrated guide to support the creation and development of these groups. This work focuses on my experiences and implications as a woman and active pregnant woman, in addition to creating a group of pregnant women in the municipality of Caicó. It is a qualitative and descriptive research, which uses self-ethnography as a methodology, which is characterized by a writing of the “I” that allows us to reflect on our own experience, or from it, to analyze questions of society and / or culture to which it belongs. For data collection, reflections, memories and the researcher's field diary written during the observation of virtual meetings of groups of pregnant women were used. From the experience of the researcher, mobilized by the development of the group, emerging themes related to her life trajectory during pregnancy / motherhood were highlighted, namely: “She doesn't pull, she inherits”; "My treasure"; “When a child is born, a mother is born (?)”; "Don't leave me alone" and "Each one knows the pain and the delight of being what he is". Based on this thematic analysis, a guide was created to facilitate the creation of groups of pregnant women. We concluded that the groups of pregnant women should be stimulated, as they are configured as spaces of care among the participants and that their creation must consider the bond between women and the culture of the place where it will be implemented.

  • Burnout Syndrome (SB) is defined as a psychological syndrome resulting from chronic stress at work. BS is characterized by Emotional Wear (DE), Depersonalization (DP) and reduced Personal Achievement (PR) with negative consequences at the individual, professional, family and social levels. The aim of this study was to verify the prevalence of Burnout syndrome in Nursing professionals who work at the ICU / HRTFF - Caicó / RN, as well as to investigate associations with demographic, occupational, psychosocial and health variables, to characterize the sociodemographic profile of the professionals. The evaluated population was composed of nursing professionals (technicians and nurses) who developed their activities in the ICU. This was a cross-sectional, observational and descriptive epidemiological study with a quantitative approach. Two instruments were used for data collection, both self-applicable: Maslach's Burnout Inventory and a questionnaire prepared by the researcher. To verify the association between the independent variables (demographic, occupational, psychosocial and health data) and the dependent (Burnout Syndrome), Pearson's Chi-square independence test was used. A p value <0.05 was adopted, with a significance level of 5% and a confidence interval of 95%. Among the main results, on average, the total sum of dimensions was 61.50 points. According to the criteria for the diagnosis of Burnout, 9.4% (03 professionals) are affected by the disease and 90.6% of professionals are not (29 professionals). The mean / median of Burnout was significantly higher in professionals who had higher education or more (p-value: 0.018) and who do not use medications frequently (p-value: 0.006). We observed that 03 nursing professionals were affected by the disease, demonstrating that one should pay attention to the factors that may be causing stress and seek ways to minimize them.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The Unified Health System (UHS) was created in Brazil by the 1988 Federal Constitution and promoted a restructuring in the public health model in the country. The reorganization of the health system also reorganized the practices in Oral Health, focusing on the family, through the Family Health Program (FHP), governed by the principles of universality, decentralization, integral care and community participation. Before the model of oral health care was merely curative and mutilating, with the changes it reaches new heights with actions of promotion, prevention and recovery of the oral health of the population. In this context, it is known that worse socioeconomic conditions lead to less access to public oral health services and consequently worse rates of oral diseases. Epidemiological surveys are used to detect the prevalence of these diseases affecting the oral cavity, and the DMFT is the most relevant index used. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the DMFT index and associated factors, in the neighborhood of João XXIII, in the municipality of Caicó-RN. The study is a study of the prevalence of caries disease by the DMFT index, conducted through an individual questionnaire of socioeconomic identification, behavior related to oral health and clinical evaluation. The sample consisted of 283 individuals. The statistic consisted of descriptive analysis using absolute and relative values, and then a bivariate analysis to verify the magnitude of association between the variables through the chi-square test. In the analysis of DMFT, the mean number of missing teeth (5.60) was higher than that of obturated teeth (4.16) and decayed teeth (1.28). The bivariate analysis showed an association between the individual DMOD dependent variable with higher ages (above 34 years), low level of education (illiterate until complete fundamental) and who needed dental prosthesis.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Cardiovascular diseases affect all social groups, causing immense impact on public health expenditures, including outpatient treatment, hospital admissions and interventions, as well as rehabilitation. Currently, according to WHO data, such diseases are responsible for 21.5% of the causes of death in Brazil, of which 12.4% are for coronary diseases and 9.1% for cerebrovascular accidents. All of this has a significant economic impact on the Unified Health System (SUS), since the costs are increasing, as new technologies emerge to be applied and increase the demands for care. The number of premature deaths and the emergence of morbidities associated with cardiovascular diseases require significant investments in research, surveillance, prevention, health promotion and the defense of a healthy life. The objectives of this project are: (1) To analyze the importance of the level of knowledge of patients with cardiovascular diseases to prevent these diseases; (2) To delineate the socioeconomic profile of the patients affected by cardiovascular diseases hospitalized at the Seridó Regional Hospital Unit - UHRS ; (3) To demonstrate the level of knowledge of the patients affected by cardiovascular diseases hospitalized in UHRS about the complications due to their non-prevention; (4) Identify the prevention strategies for cardiovascular diseases adopted by these patients (regular medical follow-up, adoption of healthy eating habits, practice of physical activities, among others); (5) To evaluate the interest and / or disposition of the patients affected by cardiovascular diseases hospitalized in UHRS to change cultural / daily practices, in order to mitigate the consequences of these pathologies; and (6) Propose strategies / actions in the field of health education in partnership with other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), such as the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (UERN). The data will be collected from the review of medical records and interviews with patients with cardiovascular diseases hospitalized at the UHRS, using a structured questionnaire to collect the information that will be used in subsequent analyzes.

  • Patient safety is a subject widely studied in the current context. Despite the growing interest in the subject, there is still widespread lack of awareness of the problem, so it is important to work on this issue in order to reduce the damage and adverse events caused by health care. This study evaluated the patient safety culture in the Primary Health Care of the Municipality of Currais Novos-RN, through the application of forms to working professionals from Family Health Teams of the urban area of the city. A cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach, where the analyzed data highlighted the most critical points that could support suggestions that will be proposed to local management, to improve the patient safety culture in the primary care in question. This work, a pioneer in the Seridó region, could become a reference for the improvement of a health system quality, as well as seek to directly impact the training of Multiprofessional Residency professionals and medical students, both linked to EMCM-UFRN, who develop their stages and activities in the Primary Health Care Units researched.

  • Suicide is considered one of the most prevalent problems in public health and has increasing levels worldwide. The municipality of Caicó / RN remained for years among the first places in the Brazilian mortality rate by suicide, in municipalities of up to 50 thousand inhabitants. In the last two years, suicide attempts have become the greatest demand for care in the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS) III. Considered as a prevention strategy for high-risk populations, improving health services and developing effective interventions for this group represents a major challenge in this Region.
The objective was to identify users with suicidal behavior admitted to CAPS III, since its foundation; to elaborate protocol for the identification and referral of people with suicidal behavior admitted to the CAPS III of the municipality of Caicó; and offer permanent health education activities to health professionals.
It is characterized as an action research, this study was developed in three stages, being: (1) Identification of CAPS III users with suicidal behavior; (2) Permanent education to professionals of the devices of the mental health care network of Caico; and, (3) Meeting with the CAPS III Technical Team. The first stage consisted of the preparatory and only quantitative stage, in which CAPS III users with suicidal behavior were identified, analyzed and quantified in the period from May to October 2018. The second stage was developed through an education activity / action and health through a Training Forum, addressing as the theme: "Network of Care and Prevention of Suicide Behavior." The third stage corresponded to another action of permanent education in health, a specific meeting for the professionals of CAPS III.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • The Brazilian psychiatric reform (RP) resulted in a series of transformations when it comes to practices, knowledge, cultural and social values that permeated the context of treatment and care for people with mental disorder and/or psychoactive substance users. Since 2003, through the Integral Attention Politics to Alcohol and Drug Users, Brazil restated drug usage as a complex public health phenomenon, claiming as a theoretical-political-ethical landmark the Damage Reduction (RD) perspective. To formalize the attention to psychoactive substances users, through the GM 225/02 ordinance new rules and guidelines were established for the organization of services which offer assistance in metal health, the Psychosocial Attention Centers (CAPS), including CAPS meant to assist people who make abusive/harmful use of alcohol and other psychoactive substances, the CAPS ad. As a professional for this service, it was observed the need for permanent education action for the team, strategy guaranteed by legislation, but absent in CAPS ad daily basis, in Caicó-RN County. Developing actions for permanent health education was aimed, with a Caicó-RN CAPS ad multi-professional team, therefore, it was sought to identify the previous knowledge of the team about psychoactive users assistance, under the Mental Health National Politics perspective and promote workshops related to the work process in health and mental health. Approved by the Ethics Committee (CAAE nº 89520618.2.0000.5568), the research was developed in two phases, consisted by a questionnaire ad six thematic workshops, between November of 2018 and January of 2019, at CAPS AD. The questionnaire is consisted by professional characterization data (Part A) and by assertives (Part B), condensed in seven areas, answered before and after the workshops, involving the following themes: Psychoactive Substances (SPA)and Chemical Dependency; Psychiatric Reform (RP); Mental Health National Politics for SPA Users; Damage Reduction; National Politics for Humanization; Extended Clinic and PTS; Clinic and Care Management. About seven professionals participated in each of the workshops. The preliminary assertive analysis (before and after the workshops) seems to indicate changes in answers, which shows a possible relevance in the service activities context.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • INTRODUCTION: The emergence of a new disease in the early 1980s, identified by the acronym aids, caused significant changes in several fields beyond health, mainly by combining sexual behavior and disease, giving greater visibility to issues related to sexuality, considering the sexual, one of the main forms of transmission. The spread of HIV infection in Brazil manifested itself as an epidemic with multiple dimensions resulting from the deep social inequalities of the country with significant changes in its epidemiological profile. Among these is the internalization, with the geographical diffusion of the disease from the great urban centers to the municipalities of the interior of the country. Considering the historical aspects and experience as a nurse of a Basic Health Unit, in the interior of the Brazilian northeastern, in which the scenario of health practices reproduces the marginalization of the HIV / AIDS condition, the interest with the study arose. OBJECTIVE: To understand the place of HIV / AIDS in daily health practices of a Basic Health Unit (UBS), in the northeastern. METHODOLOGY: This is an ethnography, whose field work was carried out between July and November of 2018 in a UBS of the municipality of Caicó / RN. The actors involved were the professionals that make up the two health teams of the family of this service. Participant observation, semi-structured individual interviews and sociodemographic questionnaire were used. Data were analyzed using the thematic coding technique. RESULTS: The analysis pointed to the invisibility and social erasure of PLHA in the territory of this service, being associated with: social prejudice; the absence of private spaces between professionals and these people; and the lack of discussions and knowledge of professionals to deal with the HIV / AIDS condition. Another result was the evidence of the social markers of difference: sexuality, gender, and the context of the place of study as enablers of issues that reinforce and shape local prejudice and stigma. And finally, the difficulty of professionals with the work directed to both PLWHA and HIV / AIDS in general, possibly resulting from historical moral values borne by them, associated with the absence of permanent education and a municipal and state health policy focused on these issues. CONCLUSION: The approach to the theme provided the visualization of an important problem on HIV / AIDS, signaling a fragility of a health unit specific to Primary Care in incorporating interventions that address PLWHA and the dimensions of HIV / AIDS into its services. It made possible changes in my professional look, previously limited and restricted to historically passed elements. The study becomes a fuel for the path of professional transformation that I have not yet fully attained, but which has already been aware that there is a long way ahead, besides, it has provided instruments that allow me to be a multiplier agent. Finally, it contributes to the discussion of the topic and the current political scenario associated with public health.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • INTRODUCTION: Suicide has been seen as a public health problem worldwide by the increasing number of cases, especially among young people (WHO, 2014). In Brazil, especially in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte has not been different, especially the municipality of Caicó (BOTEGA, 2010).

OBJECTIVES: To analyze suicide cases and characterize the psychosocial care network in the Seridó / RN region, from 2000 to 2015, subsidizing a proposal to prevent new cases of suicide.

METHODOLOGY: The cases served by the ITEP / RN-Caicó were selected from 2000 to 2015, where the death was due to suicide. Statistical analysis used the measures of central tendency, including: mean and standard deviation, in addition to their individual absolute frequencies for each item evaluated.

RESULTS: The present study included 401 cases of suicide. Caicó and Currais Novos show higher frequency of absolute cases, but when we used the calculation of the suicide coefficient the cities of São José do Seridó and Ouro Branco appear with the highest rates. The male sex corresponds to 83% of the cases. The mean age was calculated as 43.7 (standard deviation ± 18.9) years. The main ethnicity found was whites and the unmarried ones were 48.6%, followed by the married or in stable union. Farmers account for the majority of suicide cases (32.43%), followed by retirees, home and students. The psychosocial care network in the Seridó Region presents several failures, among them the lack of psychiatric beds in the main regional hospitals, in the cities of

Caicó and Currais Novos. Some interventions were proposed, such as the creation and implementation of a flowchart of high-risk suicide cases in regional hospitals, continuous continuing education for all RAPS, instrumentalization of compulsory notification of suicide attempts in RAPS, strengthening of matrix support, training for identification and screening of cases of risks for basic care.

CONCLUSION: It is known that the epidemiological profile of suicide is intrinsic to each region studied, due to several factors. For the region of Seridó Potiguar, and with emphasis on the municipality of Caicó, the lack of assistance, together with the lack of preparation of RAPS professionals, are important factors to consider and may influence the number of these occurrences.

The present study aims to evaluate sleep pattern in medicalstudents at Medical Science Multicampi School of Rio Grande do Norte, located in Caicó-RN, which adopts a Problem Based Learning (PBL) curriculum. Approval was obtained by the Ethical Committee FACISA/UFRN - N° 2.042.796. It was conducted with medical students in the first three years of graduation, during May of 2017. Threequestionnaires were applied: (1) Questionnaire of Munich, for characterization of sleep pattern and chronotype; (2) Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESE) and (3) Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Participated in this study 118 students who volunteered, between ages of 22.4 ± 4.45 y.o., higher prevalence of males, single, average body weight and no regular medication intake. The results show that students sleep 7 hours/night onweekdays and 9 hours/night on weekends, evidencing a sleep pattern of deprivation and extension. It was found a higher prevalence in intermediate chronotype with tendency to eveningness on the sampleComplaints about excessive daytime sleepiness (EDSwerereported by 54.3% of the students (ESE score: 10.78 ± 3.72). In addition, 88.1% showedpoor sleep quality (SQ) (PSQI score: 8.86 ± 2.91). A positive correlation between EDSand SQ was found (Pearson, p<0.05). Men presented a higher EDS and poorer sleep quality (PSQ); However, no significant gender related differences were found in these variants (test X2; p>0.05). Binary logistics regression tests show academic year as factor associated to EDS complaint, regardless of gender, age, chronotype, medication use and sleep quality, so that first year students had a higher EDS chance when compared tosecond- and third-year ones (p<0,05). The shortest sleep duration on weekdays suggests a sleep deprivation caused by increased of study hours. Intermediate chronotype, which slightly differs from expected for this age, may be related to morningness social habits of a countryside town like Caicó-RN. And high EDS and PSQ indexes observed may be associated with high academic demands on the PBL medical course, that would be even harder for newcomers. Knowing that sleep deprivation, EDS and PSQ may harm academic training, the promotion of sleep hygiene programs to raise awareness about the importance of regular sleep in students, that suits their academic lives and role as health providers in the professional context is indispensable.

  • Resumen Espectáculo
  • Visceral leishmaniasis (LV) is a zoonosis, known as a protozoan of the genus Leishmania, transmitted through the bite of sand flies. Canids are considered the nurses' main reservoirs, which are also known as calazar. According to the Ministry of Health, the average lethality in the four years was 5.8% and in the perspective of reducing, it has implemented surveillance / patient care actions with LV. However, the measures adopted in them contrast with the reality experienced in many municipalities, such as Caicó / RN, where the number of infected persons does not reflect the percentage of diagnosed diseases, suggesting that it is a positive stimulus in their underestimated cases or that a euthanasia of dogs may not influence the occurrence of infected humans. With this study, this has been a general decision-making process for the early diagnosis of VL in humans from canine positivity, and as specific objectives: analysis of epidemiological data in the city of Caicó / RN in the period 2008-2017; to perform the diagnosis of dogs and humans living in places with animals previously diagnosed with Visceral Canine Leishmaniasis (LCV) in the neighborhood with the highest prevalence of canine infection in the period 2013-2017; and to correlate the epidemiological data of infected domestic dogs versus humans living in the household. It is a cross-sectional study with primary and secondary data, with a quantitative approach. The results of the epidemiological analysis indicated that between 2013-2017, there was a prevalence of dogs with LVC ranging from 1.23% -3.79%. In 2017, this prevalence among the districts of the municipality of Caicó ranged from 0% to 16.36%, with Bairro Frei Damião being the most prevalent, and therefore, it was selected for the development of the following phases of this research. Initially, there was the blood collection of the dogs domiciled in the Barrio Frei Damião in 2018, conducting the Canine Inquiry. The biological material was submitted to the rapid test DPP® Visceral Canine Leishmaniasis (Bio-Manguinhos). Of the 55 samples analyzed, 9 were confirmed by ELISA for LVC. In the 9 residences with dogs confirmed for LVC, the OnSite ™ (Bio Advance Diagnostic) immunochromatographic rapid test was used for the early diagnosis in humans. Thirty tests were performed, all of which were negative. With this, it is concluded that new approaches, with a larger population, should be performed to attest to the effectiveness of early diagnosis. In addition, it was observed that the highest prevalence of LVC in the municipality of Caicó / RN is in districts that facilitate the proliferation of sandflies and stray animals and that, therefore, there is a need for the implementation of campaigns that encourage responsible possession of animals, health education activities, as well as the regularity of garbage collection, the accomplishment of the entomological survey in order to know the dispersion of the vector in the municipality, as well as the improvement of working conditions in the Zoonoses Surveillance Unit, so that it is possible to carry out regular campaigns, fulfilling the role of surveillance in health designated the local sphere of government.

  • The Multiprofessional Residency Programs Multicampi School of Medical Sciences (EMCM) were implemented in 2016 in the areas of Primary Care and Maternal and Child Health and follow the proposal of social responsibility of the University in the region of Seridó potiguar. One way to assess whether the university's presence met the expectations of improved geographic distribution and fixation of health professionals in the region is to study the graduates of the programs offered by the institution. This population makes up a portion of society that can contribute to the development of higher education and is gradually being included in work processes in the health field. Objective: To characterize the profile of graduates of the EMCM / UFRN Multiprofessional Health Residency Programs. Method: This is a research of quantitative approach and descriptive character. For data collection, an electronic questionnaire was sent via e-mail to all graduates who completed EMCM / UFRN multiprofessional residency courses by 2019. The questionnaire was prepared by the author and divided into the following sessions: 1) sociodemographic questions; 2) vocational training; 5) Professional experience and working conditions; 6) Relationship with the Unified Health System (SUS); and 7) Vocational training received at the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences.
