RESUMO:

Introduction: The Knowledge Translation (KT) is a way of transmitting knowledge based on scientific evidence, to favor the use of this knowledge in clinical practice, as well as contribute to the improvement of health care. Because it is a new health condition, the congenital Zika syndrome  (CZS) involves uncertainties about the course of neuropsychomotor development. Currently, more than 3,000 children are accompanied by rehabilitation teams in specialized public and private services throughout Brazil. However, it is not known which interventions are based on scientific evidence and whether the model of care provided to children with the CZS considers the use of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). In this sense, the objective of the study is to map current practices in rehabilitation performed in children with CZS by professionals from Brazil. Method: This is a cross-sectional and exploratory study, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, carried out through an online questionnaire directed to rehabilitation professionals who provide assistance to children with CZS and who agree to participate in the study. The questionnaire has three sections, the first explores the demographic data of the professionals; the second includes questions about the work environment and patient characteristics, and lastly, specific questions about rehabilitation interventions. Subsequently, the data collected will be analyzed through a descriptive statistical analysis. Expected Results: Given the scarcity of information on the clinical practices developed by rehabilitation professionals in children with CZS, the information obtained in this study will enable a discussion about evidence-based rehabilitation practices directed at children with CZS in Brazil, considering aspects such as cost-effectiveness of interventions, training of rehabilitation teams and diffusion of the ICF model.
