Considering Active Methodologies as a strategy for developing the teaching-learning process in the field of school Physical Education, and Project-Based Learning (PBL) as an alternative for teachers to design their lessons—and, specifically, leisure-related content as relevant to the reality of the research participants—the following research question arises: How can the Active Methodology of Project-Based Learning be used in teaching leisure-related content in high school Physical Education classes? The general objective of this dissertation is to analyze a pedagogical proposal, with the theme of leisure, grounded in the Project-Based Learning methodology within the Physical Education curriculum component in high school. The specific objectives are: to design a pedagogical proposal for teaching “leisure” content based on PBL; to implement this proposal in a high school class within the aforementioned curriculum component; to evaluate the development of the pedagogical proposal process; and to reflect on the potential and challenges of using PBL in Physical Education instruction, particularly when working with leisure content. The study will adopt a qualitative, descriptive approach, taking the form of a pedagogical intervention that will employ active methodologies—particularly Project-Based Learning (PBL)—in physical education classes for a full-time 11th-grade class at Cristóvão Colombo de Queiroz State School, located in the city of Doutor Severiano, Rio Grande do Norte. The study will include the 34 students regularly enrolled in the 10th grade full-time program, comprising 15 females and 19 males, aged between 15 and 17, who agree to participate in the study by signing the Informed Consent Form (ICF) and who have obtained authorization from their guardians through the signing of the Informed Consent Form (ICF).
