PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND CHILDREN'S LITERATURE IN THE EARLY YEARS OF PRIMARY EDUCATION
School Physical Education, Children's Literature, Language.
Recognizing the relationship that exists between Physical Education and children's literature, more specifically poetry, we set ourselves the challenge of working with poetic literary texts in Physical Education classes. As a possibility for exploring movement as an element present in poetry and in children, we point to performance as a possibility for conceiving and reverberating the poetic text presented to children in a bodily way. Our work is justified by the scarcity of pedagogical proposals that propose to link literature and Physical Education, which points us to a little explored and very powerful path for the development of this study. Its aim is to experiment with a pedagogical intervention that incorporates children's literature into the teaching of school Physical Education in a 2nd grade elementary school class. Exploratory in nature with a qualitative approach, it was carried out at the Lúcia Giovanna Duarte de Melo Municipal School in João Pessoa. The participants in this study were 25 students from a 2nd grade elementary school class, of both sexes, morning shift, duly enrolled in the 2024 school year.
