DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Establishment of theoretical thinking in the teaching of Gymnastics for All (GPT)

Physical Education in High School, centered on the contents of body culture based on historical-dialectical materialism, implemented through the Historical-Cultural Theory and Developmental Teaching, can favor the construction of teaching possibilities and human development. Gymnastics for All (GPT) is one of the contents capable of collaborating with the development of critical views of class society. This work has the following question: How to teach a didactic unit of GPT to a high school class in the light of the precepts of Developmental Teaching? The general objective: to analyze how to organize a didactic unit of GPT in the light of Developmental Teaching for students of a high school class. The specific objectives: to analyze the development of a didactic-formative experiment in the light of the theory of Developmental Teaching in the content of GPT; describe the development of the unit plan and lesson plans; report the main moments of the classes through field diary notes; identify whether students have assimilated the scientific concept of GPT content; understand what are the students' perceptions in relation to the didactic-formative experiment. A didactic-formative experiment was developed in the light of developmental teaching in GPT content in a 1st year high school class with 37 participants of both sexes in the city of Juazeiro do Norte-CE. Eight classes were given, distributed in four two-hour meetings. Preliminary results establish teaching and lesson plans centered on developmental teaching and analysis of the field diary, which showed a growing understanding of the core object of content, the basis for other formulations with the elaboration of theoretical thinking.
