I am an associate professor in the Department of Informatics and Applied Mathematics (DIMAp) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). In 2004 I received my Ph.D. degree from the School of Computing, University of Leeds, sponsored by CAPES, the Brazilian Ministry of Education Agency. There I was part of the Visualization Research Group, and worked under supervision of Professor Ken Brodlie.

I got a BSc in Computer Science at the Federal University of Ceará (Computer Science Department) in 1993 and an MSc in Informatics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Department of Informatics) in 1996. Later, in 2004, I gained a PhD in Computing at the University of Leeds (School of Computing).

My current research interests are virtual reality, game development, illustrative rendering, and data visualization.
