Título: Investigating possible mechanisms of intermediate-depthand deep earthquakes using tele seismicand regional records.

Resumo:

Deep earthquakes represent about 25% of the global earthquake catalog. Despite their abundance, the physical mechanism behind their rupture is poorly understood. I will present a number of studies at global and local scales that try to constrain the mechanisms based on seismological observables of the dynamics of earthquake ruptures. Some examples include events around the world, some in south america and a recent earthquake in Hindu-Kush.
