LIBRAS/PORTUGUESE BILINGUAL GLOSSARY: REGISTRATION AND DISSEMINATION OF THE MARKS OF THE DEAF COMMUNITY OF NATAL-RN
Special education; Bilingual Glossary; Deaf Community of Natal/RN; Brazilian Sign Language; Attractions.
The research presented, that is, the elaboration of a glossary for mapping, recording and disseminating the marks of the deaf community in Natal-RN, records the related initiatives of federal institutes and universities, which develop projects aimed at registering the mark of the deaf person for the courses offered by these institutions. However, like most of the initiatives identified, the projects mentioned aim, primarily, at recording signals aimed at the academic environment, of communication situations specific to these institutions. As a result, they do not take into account everyday communication situations, not taking into account the records of local signage in the spaces in which deaf people live and the environments they frequent. In view of the above, the present research aims to make a linguistic documentary record of the signs of tourist attractions, created by the deaf community, in Natal/RN, that is, mapping, recording and disseminating, in a didactic and structured way, the signs of the main tourist places and historical in the capital of Rio Grande do Norte. Data compilation will be carried out using the semi-structured interview script based on studies by Manzini (2020). Therefore, it is clear that the production of the Bilingual Libras/Portuguese Glossary of Natal/RN expands the collection of study and research materials for Libras professionals and students, as well as recording traces of the language and culture of the local deaf community.
