SUMMARY:

Considering the limitations imposed by the Fiscal Responsibility Law and under the aegis of a budget and fiscal crisis in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, the study has as its background the search for rationalizing measures for the use of the medical workforce in a public hospital . When observing the distribution of salaries by professional category in the State Department of Health (SESAP), the high values with the medical workforce are notorious. This project aimed to present the development of parameters for monitoring the medical workforce in a hospital unit of SESAP-RN. This is an interventional study in the area of work management at a SESAP hospital and is characterized as action research, of an interventional, exploratory nature. A documentary survey will be carried out, using public SUS databases regarding medical production, and subsequently, conversation circles will be held with local teams and technical areas of SESAP, for discussions and analysis of the collected data. A medical specialty was chosen and, from a historical series, the average scores related to the processed values of its production will be presented, defining an attention zone in order to highlight the increases and decreases in these values. From these alerts, it will be possible to initiate an analysis process, including other elements and actors of the work process. The intervention will include discussions with local hospital managers and technical areas involved, in order, through other elements of the work process, such as personnel dimensioning parameters and observations on the chosen specialty's line of care, to understand the capacity of this force of work and their deliveries regarding the production of procedures. It is intended that such monitoring parameters are replicated to other medical specialties and hospital units, subsidizing the health department's work management situation room for more qualified analyses, enabling more assertive decision-making in this area.
