Customizable Irrigation System Architecture Based on Fuzzy Logic for Water Use Optimization
automated irrigation; IoT; fuzzy logic
Global food security faces increasing challenges due to the high consumption of natural resources by agriculture. Irrigation techniques, such as drip irrigation, offer promising solutions but require precise management to avoid negative environmental impacts. This work aims to develop an irrigation architecture based on IoT and fuzzy logic to optimize water use in agriculture. The methodology includes the implementation of sensors, ESP32 microcontrollers, and an edge control layer, processing real-time data through a weather API. The proposed architecture allows for automated irrigation adjustments according to climatic conditions and the specific characteristics of the soil and crops. It is concluded that the proposed solution can increase water efficiency and contribute to more sustainable agriculture.
