SUMMARY:
It is perceived that the use of agile methodologies is becoming increasingly common in the context of software development teams, as they foster a simple process design, short cycles, continuous interactions, and self-organizing teams. On the other hand, another variable that has also been gaining visibility in the software development context is technostress, which is associated with the continuous use of information technology, depending on its dimensions. Aware of these phenomena, the present study aims to investigate the relationship between the use of agile practices by software development teams and the incidence of technostress. The relevance and originality of this research are demonstrated in light of the scientific gap regarding the topic, especially because prominent scholars like Venkatesh (2020) and others have been calling for more theory-based research investigating the effects and consequences of agile methodologies, analyzing their relationships with individuals rather than just organizational outcomes. Therefore, a quantitative study is designed based on the application of a structured online questionnaire that uses the Likert scale to verify the hypotheses suggesting that as agile practices become present in the software development team, the dimensions of technostress will be affected. We will proceed with descriptive analysis and construction of exploratory factor analysis in search of the ideal model. With the results achieved, we seek to contribute to the literature by expanding the theme of agile methodologies to focus on their consequences and individuals. From a social perspective, it drives the evolution of work present in one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, it provides agile team managers with a deeper understanding of people management in agile teams.
