AUTOMATION SYSTEM MODEL APPLIED TO THE OPERATION OF WATER SUPPLY NETWORKS
Process Control, Smart Cities, Data Telemetry, Industrial Networks, Embedded System.
This work presents the implementation of an automation system for the operation of water supply networks present at the Companhia de Águas e Esgotos do Rio Grande do Norte (CAERN), through the use of adequate instrumentation to monitor the field variables, control units for optimization of the supply system, data telemetry, implementation of supervisory system and the proposal of a method for detecting hydraulic anomalies. The development of the project was based on concepts of intelligent cities for the establishment of sustainable control and efficient management, in addition to the use of industrial networks. In order to increase the operational efficiency, the work addresses the development of an intelligent embedded system for the detection of hydraulic anomalies that uses the wavelet transform. From the implementation it was possible to observe a substantial improvement in the operation of the system, allowing faster decision making based on variables monitored in real time. In addition to the generation of information that was not known due to the low index of initial instrumentation and absence of data telemetry.
