SCHOOL OF MUSIC JAIME LOURENÇO: DESIGN OF SCHOOL OF MUSIC WITH SPACE FLEXIBILITY ALLIED TO ACOUSTIC COMFORT

This work consists in an architectural project and a descriptive memorial for a music school with flexibility and acoustics, for an institution already running in the neighborhood of Tirol, Natal/RN. The Project is justified by the raising number of students in the school and the demand for adequated spaces to the applied teaching methods, with better funcionality and acoustics. The spacial flexibility and acoustic comfort were used as architectural solution in which the interaction between people and environment are dynamic, in relation to the time and the developed educational activities, adequated to musical practice. The adopted metodology of the study and the Project constitutes of bibliographic research, analysis of correlated architectural projects, technical visits, study of the project intervention area factors and design process focusing architectural programming by the Problem Seeking method associated to others gathered in Graduate Course. As partial results, there is the preliminary object by the definition of the concept, architetural environment, Evolution of the idea, choice of the constructive system and thermical comfort analysis. The next steps of this work include the Project detailment in a deeper way, especifying the finishing materials and isolation and conditioning acoustic analysis of the school recints, according to technincal standards, and its impact on the surroundings.
