SUMMARY:

Collaborative Practices in Mental Health Care have been recognized as essencial to enhancing the quality of care and consolidating the principles of Psychiatric Reform. However, the need to deepen the understanding of this concept across different contexts and from the perspectives of the various actors involved in care persists, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. In this context, this study aimed to analyze Collaborative Practices in Mental Health Care within community-based mental health services, linking the conceptual framework of the practice with the experiences of workers and service users. This is a multi-method, multi-study investigation including three complementary studies. The first was a conceptual analysis of Collaborative Practices in Mental Health Care, conducted using the Concept Analysis method to identify their attributes, antecedents, and consequences. The second was a mixed-methods study with a convergent parallel design that analyzed the relationships between job satisfaction, occupational burden, and Collaborative Practices in Mental Health Care among workers at Psychosocial Care Centers. The third was a qualitative study exploring the experiences of service users regarding Collaborative Practices through focus group discussions. By presenting conceptual and empirical evidence derived from the perspectives of workers and users, this research aims to advance knowledge on Collaborative Practices in Mental Health Care, identifying factors that facilitate or complicate their implementation and providing insights to strengthen Collaborative Practices aligned with psychosocial care and the principles of Psychiatric Reform.
