SUMMARY:

The insufficiency or absence of a social support network constitutes one of the factors that directly influence the life trajectory of pregnant and postpartum adolescents. Studies indicate that social support provides emotional, informational, and practical assistance, contributing to coping with the challenges related to early pregnancy. Furthermore, it acts as a protective factor in situations of vulnerability, promoting better living conditions for these adolescents. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the perceptions of pregnant and postpartum adolescents regarding social support networks. This is a qualitative systematic review with meta-aggregation, registered on the PROSPERO platform under the code CRD420251121115. Studies published in the following databases/platforms were considered: MEDLINE (via PubMed), EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, PsycINFO, LILACS, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect. Qualitative, descriptive, exploratory, and case studies were included. The methodological quality of the studies was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Checklist for Qualitative Research, showing methodological adequacy ranging from 70% to 90%, with predominance of studies scoring 80%. The level of confidence and credibility of the synthesized findings was assessed using the ConQual approach, and the final syntheses were classified as having a moderate level of confidence. Study selection and appraisal were conducted independently by two reviewers, and in cases of disagreement, a third reviewer was consulted. From a total of 945 documents identified in the searched databases/platforms, 14 studies published  were included in the review. The publications covered the period between 2003 and 2025. The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) meta-aggregation approach was used to synthesize the results. A total of 91 findings were identified, aggregated into 13 categories and three synthesized conclusions. The perceptions of pregnant and postpartum adolescents regarding social support networks were present in all included studies. The three synthesized conclusions developed were: Emotional, social, and relational vulnerabilities in the experience of adolescent pregnancy; Social support networks as a protective and coping factor in adolescent pregnancy; and Socioeconomic, bodily, and reproductive vulnerabilities in the experience of adolescent pregnancy.
