SUMMARY:

The objective of this dissertation is to analyze factors related to illness, satisfaction and the impact of work on the health of workers in Psychosocial Care Centers in the city of Natal/RN. This work is being developed based on three articles. The first article is a scoping review developed with the objective of mapping the existing literature on work-related factors that contribute to illness among workers in mental health services. A scoping review was developed using the PRISMA-ScR guide. The review question was elaborated based on the population, concept and context. The searches were carried out in eight electronic databases and the findings organized in the Rayyan software. The results showed that the factors causing illness encompass structural, organizational and procedural aspects related to work, in addition to social and relational elements involving the team, users and their families. The main challenges include work overload, excessive workload, inadequate physical structure, lack of supplies, team size, lack of management support, and physical, biological, chemical, and ergonomic risks. This analysis of factors related to work in mental health services reveals a worrying picture of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion among professionals. The second and third articles involve the same research scenario, with the second article being a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach and the third a descriptive and analytical study of a qualitative nature. The quantitative study currently being finalized aims to analyze job satisfaction and the impact of work on the health of workers at Psychosocial Care Centers in the city of Natal/RN. Data collection was carried out in the five Psychosocial Care Centers in the city with 93 professionals. For data collection, a personal and professional characterization questionnaire and two scales were used, which were created and validated as part of a multicenter study coordinated by the World Health Organization and later adapted for Brazil (SATIS-BR and IMPACT-BR). The third article, also in the final stages, resulting from the open-ended questions of the scales applied, will aim to understand the perspective of workers regarding satisfaction and work overload in Psychosocial Care Centers, identifying elements that promote well-being or contribute to professional burnout. To this end, a qualitative analysis will be carried out adopting the perspective of analysis of the Grounded Theory in the open and axial coding stages according to Strauss and Corbin, with the aid of the Atlas Ti software. It is expected that the research will contribute to the collection of information, interpretations and inferences that make it possible to strengthen policies, strategies and actions to promote and protect the health of workers based on the understanding of illness, job satisfaction and the impact of work on the health of workers who work in mental health care.
