SUMMARY:

Introduction: During the pandemic, health systems worldwide experienced challenges that arise from the perspective of guaranteeing access and management of mental health care in the face of social distancing imposed as a barrier strategy to the unbridled spread of SARS-Cov-2. Objective: Starting from the question, how has the pandemic impacted the management of mental health care and in what ways have ICTs supported care? Based on the reviewed literature, the intention was to investigate the actions offered in mental health services and the use of ICTs during the covid-19 pandemic. Methods: This research was a scoping review following the methodological structure developed by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) checklist. carried out in the Scopus, Web Of Science and LILACS databases. Based on Boolean descriptors and operators, in the Scopus and Web Of Science databases: the following search strategy was formulated “health planning” OR “clinic management” AND “mental health” OR “mental health” AND “pandemic.” In LILACS: “health planning” OR “health management” AND “mental health” OR “mental health” AND “primary health care” OR “primary care.” The “years filter” was used, between 2020-2022, DOI of the Open Science Framework review protocol with identification (OSF), DOI: 10.17605/OSF.IO/NU7PW. Results: After meeting the eligibility criteria, 30 studies were entered for analysis. It can be observed, after all the synthesis of content carried out in this review, that ICTs, in addition to having been configured as strategies for continuing the provision of mental health care during the pandemic, through the imperative of distancing and isolation measures, were also responsible for operationalizing the research and scientific studies carried out during the context of the crisis, as well as technological support in monitoring the epidemiological situation, mainly with regard to contamination and mortality rates. It was found that the intersection of technology impacted the scope of reducing biological risks, and preventing the worsening and chronification of mental suffering. Final considerations: It is clear that mental health management was widely debated at different levels of health care, included in programs to combat the crisis as a measure guided by the World Health Organization (WHO) and that ICTs, with an emphasis on telehealth, were ensuring horizontality and completeness of access.
