“COULDN’T EVERYONE’S LIFE BECOME A WORK OF ART?” : AN ANALYSIS OF SELF TECHNIQUES USED IN INTERNET CELEBRITIES' SPEECH ON INSTAGRAM FOR AN AESTHETICS OF EXISTENCE
Keywords: internet celebrities; aesthetics of existence; Instagram; techniques yourself.
This research aims to investigate how the techniques of the self are used in the speeches of internet celebrities in their posts on Instagram in order to create an aesthetic of existence. It is our intention to characterize the scenario that supports internet celebrities on digital social networks, especially on Instagram, enabling care for themselves and others, reflecting on which control devices allow internet celebrities to govern themselves and their followers, in addition to investigating, through media logic, how the self-conduct of internet celebrities is significant for the subjective process of their followers and, finally, analyzing the techniques of self used by internet celebrities for an aesthetic of existence that , directly or indirectly, reverberate consumption practices. Therefore, our intention is to develop a qualitative research, with a bibliographic modality, subsidizing not only the description and interpretation of contemporary realities, but, mainly, a reflexive and critical potentiality that crosses, transforms and reconstructs them. We will use, as a theoretical-methodological route, the Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) in order to understand, through analysis, the discourses of internet celebrities who bring, in the axis of subjectivity and truth, self-care for an exercise from oneself to oneself and from oneself to the other.
