THE FINANCING OF THE ELECTORAL CAMPAIGNS FOR FEDERAL MEMBERSHIP IN RIO GRANDE DO NORTE: An analysis of the political trajectory of Henrique Eduardo Alves (2002 a 2014)

The objective of the research is to analyze the relationship between the private financing of electoral campaigns with the legislative action and political trajectory of the former Federal Deputy Henrique Eduardo Alves, elected for 11 consecutive terms to represent the voters of the State of Rio Grande do Norte. The scope is to present through the theoretical revision of concepts of authors of political science, as well as through the research of draft laws, pronouncements and votes, as candidate represented the interests of the Alves oligarchy in the State, being this one of the families most traditional practices in State policy. It seeks to understand and explain how through private funding of electoral campaigns, the former deputy increased his political capital, where he managed to elect and remain in political power for successive decades. For this, it will be necessary to analyze how the parties, the legends and the politicians who represent the traditional families, in this case, the familyAlves, managed to control the process of political representation in the State. The purpose is to describe how economic power determines the rules of private financing of campaigns, in order to show how this electoral process contributes decisively in the political behavior for the choice of the majority positions, especially for the Federal Deputy.
