THE "OWERS" OF POWER IN THE RN, FROM THE COLONY TO THE REPUBLIC AND THE SENATE AS A SUPPORT TO THE POLITICAL HEGEMONY OF THE ALVES AND MAIA FAMILIES (1986 - 2018)
OLIGARCHY; SENATE; POWER.
This dissertation makes a historical and bibliographical survey that identifies the main facts and "owners" of power in Rio Grande do Norte, in the majority, between the period of the Colony and the phase of the Republic. As a clipping, it directs the focus of analysis on the modus operandi undertaken by the political groups so that they can perpetuate themselves in power. Among them, it shows how the exercise of the office of Senator of the Republic has served to support the political hegemony of these groups over time and, more recently, deals with the specific cases of the Alves and Maia families, from 1986 to 2018.
